finally decided on how i want sage to deal with charmy's inevitable death in my future stuff...
after charmy eventually dies in the far far future, sage has no idea how to handle it. she's supposed to know how to deal with grief, shes a living computer, but she just.. cant. she can't get over it, she can't stop thinking about it. She locks herself in her room and spirals into a grief-stricken psychosis that lasts for weeks. when orbot finally worked up the courage to get inside of her room, he found his sister practically half dead, all of her energy drained from how hard she cried and from the lack of sleep.
charmy's death is main catalyst for sage turning into a monster and once she got herself together, she she has the entire planet on its knees and turned into a cyberdystopian dictatorship within a few short months. she becomes obsessed with everything remaining the same and under her control. sure she lets the little rodents inhabiting this pitiful planet kind of live how they did before, as some sort of compromise to charmy's memory, but they better not dare go against her or her rules or else. she ended up solidifying her fathers dream, but at what cost.
when i say charmy's death fucked sage up, it fucked her up bad. like shes never the same ever again. nobody's allowed to ever bring him up, ever. she ends up killing Neo in a crazed rage because he mocked her for acting "weak" over charmy's death and now sage has Neo's head mounted on a wall in her fleet like a fucked up trophy. yeah
Picture me this: Silver trapped in her base and while fighting her, manages to find like- saved videos of Charmy that she recorded when he was still alive and project them on the tv’s in the computer room. Moments when Sage was still a sweet girl in the eyes of Charmy, moments where he managed to give her robotic heart warmth and make her laugh, that sweet bee boy that changed her life.
She either focuses on the screen or has a complete meltdown, but it gives Silver the chance to escape while she grieves.
In my au, Charmy dies suddenly and violently,(in the bad timeline), the shock and grief which led Sage to paranoia and vengeance. The vicious cycle eats away at her so much that she's completely lost it and destroys civilization in her misery. Leaving only a monster in here place.
