Does normal seem like hearing every foot step thinking it was something you did wrong?

or is normal hearing those footsteps and be happy to see your father in that door way knowing you have it good not being hit or starved?

Maybe normal is seeing your mother not helping you when you cry and yell for her to save you.

Normal is seeing your mother see you get beat and starved till you're dead, seeing you get hurt and her not being that hero you wanted.
