Grace turns towards his friend, expecting to see him pointing at something on his screen. Instead, one of his claws is a lot closer than Grace expected, directed at him. It takes him a moment to put together what Rocky is asking.

“Oh,” Grace slips the quilt off of his shoulders and holds it out. “It’s called a quilt. It’s a kind of blanket, for—”

Rocky chirps softly to get Grace’s attention and stomps lightly. “Know what blanket is. Not what Rocky is asking. What’s that?”

Grace finally manages to make it stop, forces the whole console to shut down, but it doesn’t matter. The words feel like they echo through the ship, rippling through the Eridians. Through Adrian.

And Rocky.

“What mean?” Rocky asks, frantic and shrill. “Grace, what human mean you were forced onto ship?”

Grace manages to make it all the way to Erid, plus a few extra years, without revealing how he ended up on the Hail Mary. He was going to get to it eventually, but the choice is taken out of his hands once they make contact with Earth.
