it is so strange to me when people tell me they never had an ancient egyptian phase…like, what did you even do during your childhood?
this is oddly specific?? and over 3000 people relate???
That egyptology book was too golden and shiny to resist
Ok but were you an Egyptology kid, a Dragonology kid, or a Wizardology kid?
Both
Wizardology on my part! I’m still not sure if I grew out of it if I’m being honest
I still carry the set of fortune telling cards from that book in my wallet. Never gotten a wrong answer.
Class Related Feats: 5th Edition!
Armor of Faith
Prerequisites: Cleric or Paladin Class, 5th Level
The favor of your deity wards you from harm.
While you are neither wearing heavy armor or wielding a shield, you gain a +3 bonus to AC.
Rampage
Prerequisites: Barbarian Class

You do not add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack, unless that modifier is negative.
Words of Friendship
Prerequisites: Bard Class, 5th Level
You infuse your words with arcane power, transforming even the simplest speech into compelling oration.
Once per Long Rest, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration to gain a +5 bonus to the next Charisma (Persuasion) or Charisma (Deception) check you make.
This bonus increases to +6 at 10th Level, and +7 at 15th Level.
Virtue of Valor
Prerequisites: Bard Class, College of Valor
Once per round, when an ally of you reduces an enemy to 0 hit points, and the ally is within 30 feet of you, you can take a bonus action to grant temporary hit points to the ally equal to 1 + your Constitution or Charisma modifier (whichever is higher).
Primal Guardian
Prerequisites: Druid Class
You may choose to use your Constitution or Wisdom modifier (whichever is higher) for determining AC while not wearing heavy armor.
Beast Empathy
Prerequisites: Druid Class
You gain a +2 bonus to Charisma checks against beasts.
You can communicate simple concepts and commands to such creatures, though they are under no compulsion to obey you.
With a successful Insight check (DC determined by the DM), you can read a creature’s body language and vocalizations enough to understand basic messages from it.
Wilderness Tracker
Prerequisites: Druid Class
During a short rest, you can make a Wisdom (Perception) check (DC determined by the DM) to inspect the area around you.
This area can be as large as 50 feet on a side.
If your check succeeds, you determine the number and nature of the creatures that have moved through the area in the past 24 hours. You ascertain when and where they entered the area, as well as when and where they left.
Bloody Balance
Prerequisites: Paladin Class
While you are within 5 feet of an ally that is below half their hit point maximum, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls.
Black Flame Form
Prerequisites: Rogue Class, Arcane Trickster
The shadows nearby deepen as dark flames erupt from your body, enveloping and protecting you.
As a bonus action on your turn, you assume a dark, fiery form that lasts until you make an attack roll or until the end of your next turn.
While in this form, you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage from non-magical weapons, and any creature that hits you with a melee attack takes 1d6 fire damage.
This feat’s damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).
Scales of the Dragon
Prerequisites: Sorcerer, Draconic Bloodline
The first time you are reduced to below half your hit point maximum during combat, you gain a +2 bonus to AC until the end of your next turn.
Storm’s Embrace

Wild Soul
Prerequisites: Sorcerer, Wild Magic Sorcery, 5th Level
When you finish a long rest, roll a d10 to determine a damage type.

so remember that worldbuilding website, notebook.ai, that was goin around and everyone was so excited, but it turned out you had to pay a (frankly outrageous) subscription to access any of the best tools?
well i have exciting news: World Anvil.
here’s what you get for free:
yeah. all of them. double what notebook.ai offers for pay. yeah baby.
i’ve only been using this site for like half an hour, but i am in LOVE. please check it out and consider supporting the creators if you can!
This site is great for making a world for D&D. I will note that you do have to pay if you want your world to be private, which doesn’t seem like that big of an issue (for me at least). I especially love the map system they have.
Random Gemstone Generator
A “Gemerator,” if you will. Since there is already a way to roll randomly for gemstones in the DMG (p. 134), this series of tables is for creating brand new gemstones that might not even exist in nature. These are the gems as you might find them in a dungeon. To determine their worth, I would use the DMG. The appearance of the gem might not affect its overall worth since we are inventing new gems, so just make it worth as many gold pieces as is appropriate for the circumstance. You can also use this with my jewelry generator.
Gem Type
Most precious stones and minerals considered gems come in two varieties, either a stone or a crystal. Roll 1d6 to determine the gem’s type:
1: Stonelike (Matte)
2-3: Stonelike (Glossy)
4: Crystalline (Opaque)
5-6: Crystalline (Translucent)
Gem Size
First roll for the gem’s size. Since this is D&D, the gemstones can afford to be much larger than in reality. Fun thing I never really thought about before making this is that gemstones are a good way for adventurers to carry around gratuitous amounts of wealth in a smaller amount of space. Imagine carrying around a one-centimeter diamond instead of 5000 gold coins in a one-ton chest. Don’t ever dismiss the importance of gemstones.
Gem Shape
Although a gem’s shape does come from its cut, to simplify this series of tables and increase the variety it generates, I’ve separated the gem’s cut and its shape into different tables.
Gem Cut
Most valuable gems found in a dungeon have already been cut unless said dungeon is a natural cave system. To determine how the gem was cut, roll on the table below. Before modern advances, most hard gems were “cut” by abrading two gems together of similar hardness, beveling the natural crystal’s corners into facets. The gem dust from the abrasion was gathered and mixed with water or oil for polishing the gems into their finished form.
Gem Color
Next roll for the gem’s color. I could have just gone with ROYGBIV colors but gems can come in many varying hues. If you roll a 20, the gem has two colors. Roll again, ignoring further values of 20. Then roll on the next table to determine how the two colors interact.
Gem Pattern
Duo-colored gems are common, especially among stones rather than crystals. Think things like banded agate or tigers eye.
And you’re done! You’ve got a brand new gemstone that may or may not exist in nature! Use it for important or unique magic items or when imagining a new mineral for your setting.
Random Jewelry Generator
Follow the tables below to generate a random piece of jewelry complete with a random material, gemstone, style, and type! Pair this with the Gemstone Generator on my other post for even more random results.

Jewelry Material
Pieces of jewelry can be made with a variety of materials. I tried to make it more common to get gold or silver since most sought-after jewelry would be made from those materials. Pewter contains a lot of tin so those were lumped together, and platinum, rhodium, and palladium are all members of the platinum group, chemically, so I lumped those together as well.
Gemstones
Here is a link to my random gemstone generator. It was a little too lengthy for this one blog post so I made it a separate one since it can have a different use. You can also roll randomly on the Gems tables in the Dungeon Master’s Guide (page 134). For the purposes of this jewelry generator, though, you should determine the quantity of gems on the piece. I kept the terminology vague since the jewelry can come in many sizes.
Roll 1d4:
No Gems.
One Gem.
Several Gems.
Many Gems.

Appearance and Style
While I could go on about different art movements and list every object in the world that could be turned into jewelry, I tried to keep my terminology open enough here to allow artistic interpretation for your setting. Any specific motifs I added due to their overwhelming occurrence throughout history, like “flowers” and “ribbons.” A roll of 20 will bring you to the Figurines table further down in the generator.

Jewelry Type
Here we get into what specific piece of jewelry we are creating; what its purpose is. First roll 1d8 on this table, then roll on the next related table below to get your final result.
1: Fastener

GEM SCARAB
Gem scarabs are cat-sized beetles found primarily in deserts, though some miners claim to have seen them in especially rich caves. These scarabs are actually a pretty big problem for any occupation that relies on the collection of metal or precious stones, since they’re the beetles’ main source of food. As well as being big enough that their bites would leave a significant mark, the gem scarab is, of course, magically competent. The colour of the gem is indicative of the scarab’s spell’s element; diamonds for light, emeralds for acid, sapphire for cold, etc… The spells are relatively weak and primarily used as a distraction so the scarab can fly or burrow away. However, if feeling especially territorial or threatened, the scarab can prove dangerous to common people and inexperienced adventurers. So did you know that living beetle jewellery is actually a thing? Apparently the maquech beetle is this really docile little buddy, so some people have taken to attaching rhinestones and golden chains to them to make them into living brooches. It’s kinda pretty, but it seemed weird to use a literal live animal as personal decor. Apparently you can keep them alive for 2-3 years if you make sure to take care of them, feed them, house them in a nice vivarium… But I really don’t know how many people who’d buy a bug for a brooch would go through that trouble. If you want a beetle brooch that badly, just go get yourself a piece of the bajillion insect-themed jewellery items that exist, geez. Blanca’s Tumblr
