i hate how suicide is framed as selfish. lets deem the people struggling the most as self centered assholes for daring to be pushed to a point where death feels like their only option. you cant be serious

when i attempted, no one told me i was selfish. but when i saw my mom cry i felt selfish. i felt like the most selfish person on the planet. i tried to take her child away from her like the world took her mother. she didnt deserve that kind of grief again. this past month i had one of the worst depressive episodes of my life but no matter what my brain told me i didnt even consider killing myself because she doesnt deserve that. my boyfriend doesnt deserve that. my sister doesnt deserve that. no one deserves that. i want to spend as much time with my loved ones as i can in this life. i wouldnt miss it for the world. it may not be selfish to be suicidal, but living for the people in your life instead of dying is the most selfless thing you could ever do.
