- when I say Robby gets mad at him for “zebra hunting,” I mean that due to his own conditions, experience, and research makes him very quick to spot conditions that aren’t necessarily rare, but are currently considered to be by the broader medical community (POTS, EDS, MCAS, HSD, and similarly treated conditions)
- Robby also misgenders him quite frequently in the first few weeks of him working in The Pitt, Javadi tries to correct it and Robby absolutely does not like that, but it takes Abbot saying something for it to finally get through his head.
- along with HSD, he gets migraines (usually due to tension) and has autism and ADHD
- he is allowed to wear Doc Martens and prefers them to the traditional “clogs” or non-slips that other doctors and nurses might wear, because they provide ankle support
- he was head over heels for Trinity immediately upon meeting her, and she had to let him down easy (or as easy as Trinity could) and explain that she’s a lesbian. This makes Puck even happier, though, because he has the realization that Trinity sees him as a guy
- he is 1 and a half months on t at the time of his first day (Pittfest day), and wears lightly compressive tops as opposed to binders while on shift. Why? Because it’s not safe to bind for 12 straight hours, and he knows that. Puck is a healthy binding habits king.

- trinity has made it her life’s mission to set up him and Mel
- special interests include: bugs, comorbidities of chronic conditions, and Doctor Who
- clumsy, not in the way that Whitaker is clumsy/accident prone, but in the way that he is eating the tile constantly (HSD often causes poor proprioception, as can AuDHD)

Okay this is a take I might get tarred and feathered for but idc I think it’s an interesting concept-
Robby fucking up a trans med student’s pronouns. Repeatedly.
Not maliciously, the student is just early in his transition and the first time Robby saw them, his brain went “oh, girl” and stuck with that. Then he introduces himself with he/him pronouns and Robby kinda just does that thing people sometimes do where they perceive people as a gender so that’s the pronoun set they use regardless of the person’s identity. The student corrects him once, maybe twice, before getting frustrated and shrugging it off (he’s only gonna be here for one rotation, whatever. He’ll deal.) but then other people jump in and correct Robby as well.
I think it starts out as just an in-passing, if they hear him misgendering the student, they correct it, but then after a while someone pulls Robby aside for a genuine come-to-Jesus moment because this could be considered discriminatory action, etc., etc. but also it’s just a dick move to keep misgendering the student.
I think we know Robby is pretty woke (hello, falsifying measurements on an ultrasound so a teenager could get an abortion) but I also think he is older, he may not have a lot of day-to-day interaction with trans people, and also he’s got so damn much on the brain. I also think he may have a hard time divorcing his perception of someone from the reality of how that person identifies, because he does definitely have some level of “I know more” energy.
Also, uh, yeah Robby’s whole thing with treating his female employees differently than his male employees could create some interesting situations with an FtM med student…
