Hello! I come with question. I'm relatively new to 40k, and got really interested in it, partly because of your drawings ngl. Its all daunting and i have my own list, but since it kinda started with you, i thought about asking if you'd recommend any existing work in this universe. I want to make some OCs just from what i've known/read, but i feel like I need to read so much more to even know where to start @A@
Hey! Yes, absolutely.
If you like books, there are soooo many to choose from, for anything you want to read about. They vary a ton in quality, but there are some real gems.
I recommend The Infinite and the Divine (Necrons), Honourbound (Imperial Guard), and Flesh and Steel (Imperium, “regular” people, also Adeptus Mechanicus). Everyone will recommend Eisenhorn or Cain, but I didn’t particularly like those so I won’t
If you prefer video games, Rogue Trader is pretty much the best setting intro you could ask for. They even have an in-game glossary for lore references. Plus, the writing is great and it’s amazing for generating OC thoughts!
And my beloved Darktide, if you enjoy a shooter. Maybe not the best setting intro, but so good for getting immersed in the atmosphere.
