I’m so tired, I’m about to pass out, so I hope this post works.

“So, a bunch of you knew I was trying to do the #StyleChallenge - so here is my attempt at designing myself in the style of 50 different cartoon shows!

“You are outnumbered ten to one. You will perish at my hands and the kingdom will be mine.”

“You know what? That’s fair. I quit.”

The leader of the invasion sneered openly at me. It was a great expression. I wondered briefly if he practiced it in front of the mirror.

“You are outnumbered ten to one. You will perish at my hands and the kingdom will be mine.”

His voice held the perfect amount of menace. He managed to be threatening without even having to shout. I really had to admire it, this whole invasion had gone very smoothly. I lifted my hands in the air, smiling.

“You know what? That’s fair. I quit.”

There was silence in the throne room.

“…What?” The enemy leader seemed flabbergasted, which was confusing to me as he had demanded my surrender in the first place. Did he not want to take over?

“You make a great argument!”I got up off the throne, taking the crown off my head. “The country is yours!” I held it out to him, but he didn’t reach for it.

“Your Majesty,” my attendant whispered in my ear, “I think they are concerned about your enthusiasm for handing over the kingdom.”

“Good point.” I whispered back.

Trying to put myself in the right mindset, I threw my head back and put a hand on my forehead dramatically.

“Oh no! I have been overcome by my enemies.” I paused and tried to glance around surreptitiously to ensure I had their full attention. Everyone was staring. Great!

“Even though it breaks my heart, I must surrender to your overwhelming strength!”

I considered trying to faint, but the floor looked dirty. Instead I held the crown out again.

The enemy reached out, but before grasping it, drew back. Darnit.

“Wait!” His eyes narrowed suspiciously, “How is the country doing financially?”

Throwing a frantic glance at my Minister of Finances so he would know to keep his big mouth shut, I tried to put on my most reassuring smile.

“We’re… doing great!”

He didn’t seem convinced. “Are you in debt?”

“…”

“…”

All the countries officials avoided looking at each other.

“Only a reasonable amount.” My voice cracked a bit with the weight of my lies, but it was for the greater good.

“Well, what’s your main export? Furs? Jewelry? Wine?” The leader demanded, looking exasperated.

“…”

An attendant stepped forward holding a ceramic bowel filled with brown liquid. I gestured grandly. “THIS is our export!”

He looked confused. “Ceramics?”

“No, of course not, we import those bowls from the neighboring country.” I shook my head slowly before pointing once more. “It’s gravy.”

I muttered it softly, hoping he wouldn’t hear, but the enemy leader’s eyes still bulged with disbelief.

“Did you say GRAVY?!”

I threw the crown at his head and ran out the back door of the throne room.

“YOU SAID YOU WANTED THE COUNTRY! NO TAKE BACKS!”

My laughter echoed as I left the stupefied army behind me.

What if other planets appeared in the sky instead of the moon?

“Fire powers? Dude, I’m an ice hero. I freeze shit and manipulate water. Also, I love aquariums. Thanks for the free entry!”

“But… you’re dressed like Guy Fieri…?”
