"You think I'm a 'hero'?! You're kidding, right?"

"I quite like the plummet, it's the crashing into the ground I don't enjoy."

"I can't stand that she's gone. She should've left me her ghost, at least."

"And you know that doesn't change a thing."

"This isn't sustainable -- at some point, you'll burn yourself out and lose that progress. It's time to stop."

"Don't lie to me. I was right there."

"That way it's a win-win."

"Why is it always dark in places like these?"

"I love you more than anything. How could you forget that?"

"Is this all supposed to teach us something? Or is this pain just for the sake of it?"

"Like what?!"

You think about how there's still a collar in your friend's home somewhere, covered in hair from a dog you haven't seen in years, and as long as you can remember there's been a pink set of slippers in your grandfather's room three sizes too small for him. That's how you know nothing you love fades until you let it.

"Whatever -- you won't be so smug when you're dead."

"On YOUR side? Why would I be?"

"I've been waiting for you to fall for me for so long. In the meantime I guess I just got over you."

"Everyone is getting along fine except you two. Again."
