︵‿۶ৎ 𝓐‿ she's running and panting, sun-dappled curls bouncing with each dash in her step; legs of her own, a human body to follow her heart now ! she found her quite easily in the crowd of humans and pushes through each one until finally, "MEG !!!" ariel calls, throwing her whole petite bod onto the woman with a squeal of pure ecstasy bubbling in her throat. "i missed you !! i'm back, meg, for good this time !"

Meg can't finish verbalizing. Instead, she is immediately overcome by a rush of unbridled, bright red joy. Ariel is on her, and, instinctually, Meg reaches forward to steady her by the waist.

Well, what'dya know? I wasn't seein' things after all.

Normally, Meg would have something dry to say; something witty, or funny, or perhaps simply even-keeled. But the surprise of seeing Ariel leaves her overcome, and she can hardly think of anything more through her beating heart than:

❝ But I thought ... you were thrivin' back at sea? ❞

Was this a trap? Hades playin' tricks?

Meg's brow furrows, and she brings both of her hands gently to each side of Ariel's waist, holding her, studying her. Meg's eyes graze her up and down once, her lips resting in a pensive frown.
