Oh boy, he knew something was up. Just the look on Ariel's face was enough to break your heart...and be ready to fight whoever was the cause of it. He was about to ask where they were but apparently, it wasn't anybody in particular. She just seemed to be having one of those days.

Poor kid...

She thought for a moment, taking Ariel's words into consideration. "It could be," though she had been told she had been light of foot. "Maybe it's both..." she mused aloud, forgetting she hadn't said the last part out loud.

To give them some grace, Ariel had caught him by surprise. And perhaps that was what had stoped him from pushing Ariel away when she climbed on top of him. The look in her eyes was... something else. Was that how the mermaids of fairy tales seduced sailors and convinced them to join them in water? Despite her not being in her mermaid form right now, she was giving the same alure.

Never before he had noticed how pretty her eyes were up until now, or how she had such a magnificent shade of red in her hair. Without thinking, his tail started to wag.

@seachant asked: "oh my gosh, belle, your library is the most beautiful i've ever seen! can we really spend the whole day in here? oh, so many biology books and - gasps - books about space!" she builds them a little cozy corner to spend the day reading and studying them, head laid across her lap. "how do you get anything done with so many books to learn from?"

Belle giggles, fingers splayed across her wide smile as she observes Ariel's enthusiasm. It mirrored her own once she first laid eyes on this magical place. One could live for a hundred years and still not even be close to reading it all. "I admit, it's tempting to hole myself up in here and do nothing but explore. But heavens know Adam would be lost without me."

"zuko!" she bounces with a wave of her hand towards him, wearing a new hairstyle. "what do you think? a nice lady did my hair for me. don't i look like a fire nation human now?" in spite of the bright-red color and ocean-blue eyes .. still, ariel gives a twirl to show off her new hairstyle.

Zuko’s golden eyes soften the moment he sees her. The new elegant style… suits her in a way that unexpectedly tugs at his heartstrings.

He stares at her, mouth open for a second, before smiling warmly. He doesn't say anything right away, because seeing her so proud and beautiful affects him deeply. He was…. happy to see her like this.

He finally manages to speak, with a slight blush on his face, but this time he doesn't hide it: "…You're… beautiful."
