“but they’re so pretty!” beatrix would rarely ever admit it, but she did like pretty and sparkly things. it was one thing she actually did like about being in auradon. she was able to wear pretty accessories and jewellery instead of old, washed up things she found in the isle junkyard or on the forest floor. “it was! and then i went to go bother my friend blane, right? and since we were on the isle growing up, he’d never seen me in my demon form, so i just let my wings fly in the middle of his kitchen, and it was fucking amazing. his face.” shocking blane was just as much fun as making fun of him. “wait, too big to be in pixie hollow? is it like… a tiny colony or something.” she didn’t know much about fairies. their magic was usually far different from beatrix’s own, and so her father had rarely ever mentioned it during her lessons. “i… think she does, too.” while beatrix didn’t think her name fitted her, she did like it. “yeah, i get that. i have all these… weaknesses, ‘cause i’m a demon and stuff.” she wasn’t about to say what all of them were, though. most people knew one or two things that could hurt demons anyway. she was powerful, but also incredibly vulnerable in certain situations. “then, i guess the water’s healthy and stuff around here, then?” she was reminded of the water on the isle. not the best in the world, she had to admit. “most people from the isle can’t. there’s just… no way for us to. and even if there was, we’d usually need parental guidance, and most of our parents don’t give a shit.” she knew chernabog didn’t care if she could swim or not. “wait, you’d teach me?” she asked, surprised. she almost missed the compliment ( or was keiran just starting facts? who knew? ), but when she heard it, she couldn’t help but smile slightly. “thanks.”
“well, thanks!” keiran exclaimed, looking back at her wings with a bit of a proud smile. at least there was one good aspect of her wings. at beatrix’s story, the fairy burst into a fit of laughter, before quickly coming to a halt. “--- wait, blane? blane jones? i know him! that jizz-tissue is afraid of fighting me! what a wimp.” she crinkled her nose. “he’s friends with my friends, though, so ...” she shook her head, giving another laugh. “yeah, pretty much! my original fairy size is about ... this big.” she held her fingers up, indicating her tiny height. “it’s super tiny, so most things were a danger to us --- the only animals we had in pixie hollow were the small ones: squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies. we had bugs! and some birds.” she explained, making a face at the mention of birds. “ooh. that makes sense. everyone has there weakness, i guess.” she shrugged. it was a part of life. “but yeah! the water is pretty healthy. there’s the occasional meh area, but overall ... it’s pretty clean!” she smiled. she was thankful for the clean water. “it’s nowhere near as healthy as pixie hollow’s water, but ... pixie hollow is all-natural, so it only makes sense for it to be healthier than here.” she shrugged. “that makes sense, yeah. plus, i heard that in some areas, there are man-eating sharks in the water and stuff --- i wouldn’t even try swimming in that water.” she made a face of clear disapproval. “of course, i’d teach you! i would need to get some of kasiah’s dust, to protect my wings from the water and all, but ... i could make it work!” she smiled. “of course.”
