“well, thanks!” keiran exclaimed, looking back at her wings with a bit of a proud smile. at least there was one good aspect of her wings. at beatrix’s story, the fairy burst into a fit of laughter, before quickly coming to a halt. “— wait, blane? blane jones? i know him! that jizz-tissue is afraid of fighting me! what a wimp.” she crinkled her nose. “he’s friends with my friends, though, so …” she shook her head, giving another laugh. “yeah, pretty much! my original fairy size is about … this big.” she held her fingers up, indicating her tiny height. “it’s super tiny, so most things were a danger to us — the only animals we had in pixie hollow were the small ones: squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies. we had bugs! and some birds.” she explained, making a face at the mention of birds. “ooh. that makes sense. everyone has there weakness, i guess.” she shrugged. it was a part of life. “but yeah! the water is pretty healthy. there’s the occasional meh area, but overall … it’s pretty clean!” she smiled. she was thankful for the clean water. “it’s nowhere near as healthy as pixie hollow’s water, but … pixie hollow is all-natural, so it only makes sense for it to be healthier than here.” she shrugged. “that makes sense, yeah. plus, i heard that in some areas, there are man-eating sharks in the water and stuff — i wouldn’t even try swimming in that water.” she made a face of clear disapproval. “of course, i’d teach you! i would need to get some of kasiah’s dust, to protect my wings from the water and all, but … i could make it work!” she smiled. “of course.”

“yeah, i have a bit of trouble controlling them,” she admitted, making a face. “they’re too big.” she struggled to flutter her wings once, as if showing off how big they were. she laughed at beatrix’s story, scrunching up her nose in amusement. “oh, my gosh! i would have loved to see his face — it sounds hilarious!” she nodded once. “i get that! i mean, i’m used to seeing animals, but not, like, dogs or cats or anything — they’re too big to have in pixie hollow … i’ve seen a lot of squirrels and bunnies in my day, though! oh, and fishes. you can’t forget the fishes.” she said, smiling. “well, your mama has a good taste in names. from what i know, my papa chose mine —” as much as she wanted to let her smile drop, she didn’t. she kept it in place, determined to stay in a good mood. at the mention of polluted water, she made a face in disgust. “i wouldn’t be able to live. polluted water hurts water fairies. it makes us super weak, so …” she puffed out her cheeks. “yeah, it screams! usually when it’s upset, but sometimes of joy! — oh, yeah, i can talk to the water! i can talk to any water.” she smiled, feeling a bit proud. at least that was something that she could do with no problems. “you can’t swim? i can’t really, either — my wings can’t get wet, but i know how. it comes with the talent.” she smiled. “i can teach you if you want!” she offered, smile growing. “thank you, thank you!  and you may be a demon, but i’m pretty happy right now!” she nodded. it was true. she was happier than she had been since the whole ursula ordeal, at least.

“Come on, don’t ruin my moment.” he replied before shooting the girl a sharp look. 

veronika: we didn't date from the START i did a LOT of embarrassing things and she did too before we even got together

“ah, don’t worry about it. i hardly use ‘em, anyway,” she said, waving her hand dismissively. sometimes, keiran didn’t even want her powers, and so giving them up seemed like a nice idea. “you right, you right! it’ll be fab. we’ll be famous.” she grinned. “yeah, he’s hard to miss! super happy all the time, he’s got two dogs with him sometimes, too!” she nodded. “so, your name is like a paradox or something. that’s pretty cool —” she looked up at beatrix’s parasol when it opened. “wait, light is your weakness, you said, right? i have a weakness, too! though, mine is a bit easier to avoid — it’s polluted water … the water screams sometimes, you know.” she made a face, shaking her head in disgust. she smiled slightly after a moment. “well, thank you. i love your name, too! — ironically, my name means ‘little dark one’, or that’s what my brother’s girlfriend told me, at least …” she hummed. “… but i’m not sure my mama knew that when she named me.” she laughed a bit.
