Naturally there's a sense of quiet and isolation that had come with living in a HOUSE situation that was kind of calming, and there are BAD situations to be in when you are in such a weird shared space, like an apartment, too, but this one has some honestly charming features?

I have a window that faces the sunset so I have to open it up to air it out best, but when I do I get this amazing cross-breeze, the nice grilled and fried food smells from the nearby restaurants drift into my window, tonight I think one of them has live music playing and it sounds like an ambient tavern track you'd use for TTRPG sessions or something.

I know that there's always that horrible "I could redraw this now so much better" curse when you look at your sequential art but I think that a lot of things have wound up for the better.

I started this comic mostly drawing stuff that was in my interest and wheelhouse, and that GOT me started.

There's a few really LUCKY shots of stuff that WASN'T in my wheelhouse, but I felt really passionate about design-wise. I'm now over a hundred pages deep and even the stuff that I started as SUPER interested in, I'm now drawing BETTER, and the stuff that I needed the practice on, I've practiced.

There's no real way to show your growth if all you do is cover up where you started and propagate the sort of lie everyone tries to tell themself - "wait to start your Dream Project until you're GOOD ENOUGH", etc, you know? You gotta grow with your work.

Other than the fear of "how much of this is my insurance going to make me pay for" fear that 99% of Americans have to go through, but, you know.

I still don't have full range of strength in my foot, but I am doing better with my pain management than I even was, like...a month ago, when I DID have the ability to go up on tip-toe on it. And, to be honest, my range of overall motion in my leg is better, so even if things aren't 100% better, they're not completely hopeless.

I had an ER visit, on Saturday, that evolved into an immediate follow-up concern visit to a clinic on Monday, with an X-Ray, and am now awaiting an MRI, tomorrow morning.

It's been a little rough. I am in mostly-masked pain and have pretty much no energy. They're supposed to get back to me with any results on the X-Ray sometime, soon, hopefully, but I don't know for sure what we're even treating, yet.
