I've been stuck on a painting for months (not this one). Granted i have not been working on it constantly but there are times when I also felt just overwhelmed when I realised the sheer amount of work I know I have to put in to get it to look the way I want to look, and sometimes I just felt exhausted looking at it. Maybe I've been too ambitious or bitten off more than I can chew, but I've done far too much to give up on it now so I guess the only way out is through. But yah I just wanted to take a break and draw something else, like something that can be done quickly so I can get it out quickly and so I did!
