Unfortunately due to some privacy issues, I’ve had to delete my old blog. However, I’m back with a fresh start.

If you’re new here, I’m Kay (she/her). I’m a teen author in the middle of draft 2 of my debut novel. This blog is dedicated to said book, but I have made a side blog to post about writing tips/advice/prompts. It’s @moonlitebooksandtea

Bc I’ve had a lady ask me about my book, follow me on my socials, and said she’ll tell her book club to keep an eye out for when I publish it.

And I’ve had an old friend (multi-time published author) tell my mum that when I’m finished my book she’ll be happy to beta read and give me advice on publishing — self or traditional.

IM FREAKING OUT GUYS WTH

If it’s an actual book you want to post, then I’m aware of a couple options:

+ Wattpad: this is probably the most common platform I know of that people post their book on, it’s free to read and easy to organise

- AO3: might not be the best one as the site is predominantly used for fanfiction, but you could still upload it there to read for free

- Tumblr: again, probably not the best as it’s hard to format/keep all your content together, but I know some people that have posted their book on here to read for free

+ Document: if you have your book written on a shareable document then you can share the link on platforms and it will direct people to your book where you wrote it. I’ve seen a few people do this and they seem quite happy with how it’s turned out.

+ Amazon KDP: this is a self-publishing route that allows you to sell physical prints of your book or turn it into an ebook. This option costs people to read (idk if it costs to publish or not) but this is the most ‘professional’ option here.

A question i want to ask you

What got you into writing?

Yay! I rarely get asks anymore😢

Okay, so, I’ve always been into writing tbh. When I was weer I would handwrite mini stories or tell my mum fairytale style stories to put myself to sleep😭 I was a big reader whereas my mum wasn’t, so I would read by myself and progressed onto bigger books at a young age. Then, of course, I got into the fanfic phase (still ongoing tbh) Those really inspired me a lot.

I didn’t start properly writing until I was 14. I had an idea for a book and wrote the first few chapters of it, but I couldn’t seem to write one I liked as I kept rewriting them. Eventually I took a break from book writing and went onto an attempt at poetry for a while, before I got back into book writing. And that time it stuck! That’s how I now have my debut novel, after a few long years of hard work.
