anyway 🪶anon's danchae hcs (peak btw!!) got me thinking. if yoonchae can trail dani for 2m 28s, who else can?

like if megpool locked in would she be able to beat that time? can manon beat it or is dani just too in tune with her actions? Sophia and lara may just be a lost cause tho...

space nerd yoonchae woah. space nerd yoonchae who knows megan's supposed to be pointing slightly to the right if she wants to point out Ursa Major, but who also won't say anything because Megan has a huge grin on her face and looks so happy and free, and she's sharing childhood memories of staring at the stars waiting for her mom to come home. (meichae and stars has to be mentioned in everything I fear... maybe in the mma fic too? )

im such a sucker for superheroes being involved in the community. like yes, yoonchae's amazing with kids, and yes, manon dog walks for the shelter and lara hosts weekly science fairs with an unnecessarily expensive prize and the others do equally as amazing things.

also im revising for a maths exam and I keep thinking about maths being called a universal language. imagine lara thinking out loud (as she often does) in her lab about something that just won't work and Sophia wanders in with a tray of snacks and takes one look and is like oh if you do this and this it'll work better :)

cue lara staring and being like wtf you literally got scared of a toaster yesterday and almost blew up the microwave by putting a fork inside, wdym yk how to make the thrusters on my suit work better??

also on the topic of Sophia: Sophia has a very very serious open door policy. like that girl does not play about it - you have a problem, her door is open, no matter the time. a lot of them are quite hesitant at first about breaking (non-existent) boundaries, but eventually they get used to it and start actually going to her, sometimes even if they don't have a problem.

one night, Sophia's about to fall asleep after watching an episode of tsitp (yes she's supposed to wait for dani, but she was just too invested, okay?) when there's a knock on her door. she sits up but doesn't move (bc again open door policy) and a second later, Megan pokes her head round the door. Sophia lifts her covers before she's even glanced at the younger girl's red-rimmed eyes and overly bitten nails, and Megan crawls under and doesn't speak but Sophia knows when not to push.

they're both on the verge of sleep again when the door creaks open, and dani tiptoes inside, fresh off a mission. she drops her bag in the corner and curls up behind Sophia, yawning. Sophia turns and they have a murmured conversation about the mission, both trying hard not to wake up Megan who's snoring lightly.

half an hour later, dani jolts awake and accidentally jolts Sophia awake as she hears the door open once again. manon ushers a sullen-faced yoonchae inside, who takes one look at Megan sprawled half-out the covers and her expression softens and she wanders over and slides right beside Megan, who wraps an arm around her almost-instinctively. the other three aww at the sight, and yoonchae twists slightly to glare at all of them but makes no effort to move.

they're all practically asleep when a sleep-deprived lara stumbles in, still holding blueprints from the lab. she takes one look at the bed and proceeds to drop the sheets in the middle of the room and pull out her phone. she manages to take a few badly lit photos before she shoves that away too and squishes herself into a gap next to sophia, who mumbles some nonsense and huddles closer.

in the morning, the six wake up in various contorted positions, besides dani and yoonchae who are pretty still sleepers. they then go about their day to day life, ignoring the fact they’d been a dogpile hours prior (why aren’t they reacting, you may ask? because they all know it’ll happen within the next month, and they all know it’s the best night’s sleep they’ve each gotten in a while)

puzzle anon giving ideas again??? anyway that got longer than I expected but back to revision I go! (it's 2am, I need to wake up at 6, and my exam's at 12pm and I haven't actually looked at any of the content! am I cooked...?)

i think megan could probably come close to yoonchae's time and manon is the only one who might be able to beat it. all hope is lost for solarz and their espionage abilities i fear 😔

yo space nerd yoonchae who doesn't know much about the stars the first time she goes stargazing with megan but learns so much on her own and still asks megan every time to point out constellations to her because she loves listening to megan talk about them and share her stories

space nerd yoonchae who ruins her already terrible sleep schedule to look at the stars when she isn't on patrol and to catch meteor events or lunar eclipses or what have you

space nerd yooncahe who eventually gets up the courage to pester sophia endlessly about space because sophia's been there and she's been there a lot

space nerd yoonchae who follows lara up into space infinity-war-style mostly out of incredible devotion to lara but also because she loves space

i've got two variations of extended space nerd yoonchae hcs in my head and idk which one makes more sense tbh. like, either she loves space, but thinking about it too long makes her a little panicky. the idea of infinity and things going on forever, stars dying and being born, all the really huge-scale stuff makes her feel like she's suffocating. but she loves it anyway and persists through that to learn, and it's kind of nice to feel anxious about something that she's choosing to engage with, in a weird way. OR space nerd yoonchae who rambles to megan about space stuff and realizes slowly how badly it's freaking megan out, because she's deadpool and if the earth ever exploded or something, she might not die, she might just end up floating around in space, suffocating and being reborn over and over for eternity. absolutely horrifying. and yoonchae having to calm her down and trying to comfort her by spinning the space thing into something a little gentler, talking about how it means they'll always be connected or something. idk just thoughts! thoughts that are partially based on how stressed out space makes me 🫩

its dogs and kids dude, superheroes working with dogs and kids gets me every damn time

sophia being amazing at math is so good. i personally am terrible at math but most if not all of the katsvengers would probably have to be pretty decent to do their jobs

the order in which they come in feels so in character for them all too, it's very sweet. megan coming to find sophia first, dani and sophia trying not to wake her up when they debrief about their mission, manon bringing yoonchae in and yoonchae losing most of her hesitation when she sees megan, and then lara coming in last to snap pictures and cuddling up to sophia ugh my heart. got lowkey solarzpilled after that documentary video thing that came out today

and the yoonara live when yoonchae says she keeps joking about 67 against her own wishes?? and lara called her out because someone said 6 7 during a meeting and she did the gesture under the table. spideychae is brainroted confirmed

i do have this screenshot from the documentary thing though where she spikes a drone camera during the pinky up performance and it's so badass, it gave me spideychae vibes. i was gonna include the full clip but you can only do 1 video per post 😔

it's really all thanks to you guys, honestly. having people interact so genuinely and kindly with the things i put out has been really amazing!

they both discovered a genuine liking for documentaries. cartoons are triggering, they dont get comedies, spy/action movies are just too unrealistic for them but documentaries are great. they both realise, outside of hydra, they like learning abt stuff and sometimes they make it a quiz between them when they watch documentaries, pausing the narration so they can each guess the next fact/stat thats coming up. dani's favourite is learning abt anything and everything in the ocean and yoonchae loves space science

dani teaches yoonchae how to drive and the rest thinks its normal straightforward driving but dani actually teaches her defensive manoeuvres and has promised to teach her how to pilot too.

once when yoonchae was out on one of her late night patrols, she spots dani walking on the street(couldnt sleep either and needed some air) from the rooftop she was perched on. decided to tail her out of boredom and mild curiosity. its less than 2 minutes before she gets a text from dani telling her to stop, she had been made. it became a game for them, for yoonchae to see how long she can tail black widow before she gets caught. current record: 2 minutes 28s.

dani took yoonchae with her once when she volunteered at an orphanage and now its something they do regularly. "yoonchae unnie" is actually really good with kids, shes so gentle and patient and both dani and her finds it soothing to be around little ones. she finds that she doesnt mind affection when its tiny hands slipping into her own. she teaches them to sketch and dani teaches them dance

they both have secret stashes of buldak hidden in a few spots around the compound. theres really no need to hide them, they are the only two who likes the spice level but it became a game for them to find the other's secret stash. yoonchae leaves a smiley sticky note behind when she finds dani's stash and dani leaves a paper crane. yoonchae has a little jar of paper cranes on her side table and dani sticks the notes on the back of her door.

spideychae trying to trail dani that's so cute, it reminds me of how some animals like big cats (??) let their cubs 'hunt' them for practice

dani and manon are such active members of the community i love it. and yoonchae getting a place where she's the oldest, she's the one that kids look up to as a safe person is probably so good for her. it's a good place for her to realize that she's not dangerous at her core, because sometime a kid scares her and she doesn't instinctively lash out, or she gets overwhelmed by the four kids all pulling on her shirt and the other two screaming at each other, but she handles it calmly instead of blowing up or running away even though she can literally hear them all breathing because spidey senses

them exchanging notes and paper cranes is so cute. i like how their affections in all of these are expressed a little less directly than some of the other duos but it's so clear how much they care about each other!!
