[04/23/2021] My desk this week. I’ve started studying with my flowers so my desk matches the trees blooming outside.

[03/31/2021] I am generally a fan of vibrant and matching colors when taking notes but black and white notes have their own appeal.

[03/18/2021] To celebrate the beginning of spring in a few days and St. Patrick’s day yesterday, I got a few new study buddies for my room! I got a small orchid and a succulent in addition to the little one pictured above.

[03/03/2021] It’s been raining recently so I have been adding candles, slippers, and a blanket to my study routine for some comfy motivation.

What a historic day for the United States! I can’t wait to see how we move forward from these last four years (this last year in particular) to a better future!! I got almost nothing done today but due to the circumstances I am more than okay with that.

Happy New Year!! Since 2021 is already off to quite an interesting start (especially here in the States) my hope for this year is that by December everything will be okay again. Too optimistic?? I honestly have no idea, but I hope not. Cheers to the new year!

[12/28] - I am currently stuck between being productive for the last few days of the year or just relaxing and letting the year come to and end.

I got a new phone as a Christmas gift and I am more inclined to play with the features and customize the device than do my work. But the internal struggle seems appropriate for this mess of a year. Counting down the last few days until we get to reset with the new year!

[12/22] - I can always tell my productivity is high when my desk is messy. With just a few more days until Christmas my motivation is decent since I know the break for the holidays is right around the corner.

We are over a year into the pandemic, and I am slightly embarrassed to say, I had yet to educate myself on the virus. This year I was focused on graduating, applying to graduate schools, and getting a job. I didn’t have much free time beyond those obligations. But now I’ve finally had some free time to read up on virus behind the outbreak.

[12/12]- Winter blues definitely hit harder this year due to everything else going on. I was not prepared for how much my mood, energy, and motivation levels would change when the hours of sunlight decreased this month.

I have been pushing through and doing little things to help! My new light therapy lamp has been doing wonders and I make sure to sit by a window while doing my work to get some extra vitamin D (since we are basically house plants that need sunlight and water lol!).

I’m still excited for the holidays but I’m more excited for the spring when the sun will start to hang out with us more again.

[12/07] - I cannot believe we are so close to the holidays!! Even though this year will be different and most people (including my family) will not get to travel and see loved ones, I am still excited! I’m probably most excited for the time off work lol but I think that’s still a reasonable thing to be excited about (maybe).
