the day after my 23rd birthday, i snugged up in lizzie’s bed with emily and lizzie and we watched a weird horror movie on netflix. october 26th, 2015.
on my 23rd birthday, i also went to target, bought a ridiculous pantsuit, and wore it out to dinner. october 25th, 2015.
naturally, my 23rd birthday included an all-black-everything outfit (black fuzzy sweater, black velvet leggings, & black ankle boots, specifically), as well as mimosas with a bagel breakfast.
october 25th, 2015 was my 23rd birthday. i didn’t take any photos, but i threw an extremely poppin party with lots of my dearest friends who made me feel loved and appreciated with very nice gestures and presents, such as these examples:
on the left: my girl @moon-booty (kim) drew me a beautiful colored pencil self-portrait (note my extremely epic “don’t touch me” gold necklace with black pendants which i rly wish i had in real life. top right: my friend annette printed out this photograph which she took herself during her time at grad school in isreal. she took this photo at slut walk in tel aviv. bottom right: my darling lizzie got, among other things, a book called “sex, death & enlightment” (topics i’m very much into.)

in mid-october, i finally started reading this book, which was co-written by sheldon solomon who was my advisor, three-time-professor, research colleague, and number one homie in college. sheldon & his boys developed terror management theory, an extremely important theory in social psych that involves how we deal with anxiety related to awareness of our mortality. this year, they published a book summarizing their findings.
it rules. if you’re into good books, psychology, social psychology, existential psychology, existentialism in general, or just death, i would highly recommend.
every halloween, there’s one house in our hometown that gets decked the fuck out in terms of decorating for halloween. they get very detailed, and it very violent and gory and actually scary. we decided to stop by one day. here’s anthony in front of the house, where, this year, they actually went so far so to put a car on the lawn. the passengers are getting attacked and eaten by zombies, of course.
