do not underestimate my ability to do absolutely nothing

i honestly never understood the whole ‘don’t write your intro first!!!’ thing for essays?? like the intro is what you’re gonna talk about in ur body, so like it helps give structure and kind of sorts out your ideas for you?? like i write essays by making dot points and chunks of info (like i legit copy and paste pertinent info just so i don’t have to keep going back to the article. point is, there is no actual cohesive paragraph writing) that i can rephrase and expand on, group them into groups vaguely, then write my intro before i even start writing a body paragraph, otherwise i have no idea what the point of the paragraph is? idk man, some of the stuff  they tell you at uni is bullshit. like yea, some ppl might find writing their intro first tricky, but i feel like by masters, most ppl would’ve already established their essay writing process, even if writing an essay is still tricky. and like even if some ppl haven’t, adamantly telling them to do something that might not work for them is ??????? like dude just give suggestions, why ya gotta be so pushy

i’ve been trying to get through a 20 page reading for the past like almost 2 hours and i’m only half-way through, which isn’t even that long, and i’m already at that stage where i read a sentence and forget what the start of the sentence said by the time i reach the end of the sentence.
