In all seriousness: it is incredibly weird that 2026 has felt like the year I finally start feeling sane, and then everyone and everything around me -- from people I know, to local events, to the broader WTF??? that is the world -- feels like it's all going insane.

Talked to my 80 year old grandmother about this recently, "has it ever been like this within your lifetime?" No. She said categorically: no. This is a kind of WTAF that she can't even parse.

Riding home last night on my bike after a day spent trying to wrap our minds around someone we know being murdered, as fires are raging around us, the world is going insane, the people we respected have lost their moral compasses, and to top it all off the moon was high and bright red from the wildfire haze -- it feels like the world has become fictional and unreal.

weird how those of us who have experienced prostitution in our lifetimes don't carry the same views and how our history of sex work gets invalidated because we are a bit uncomfortable with the way it's spoken about and lumped together

so now this boy with a traumatic history and severe mental illness and likely schizophrenia is probably going to go to prison and his situation will be even worse for it. he's the actual victim of an entire shit society that doesn't care about mental health or homelessness and the local politicians actively engaged in crazy shit to suck the dick of a larger MLA and larger business to block what would have been a fully approved funding from the province for a shelter.

and meanwhile the group that was supposed to be helping him obscured from their board that there were complaints about the employee who interacted with both of them in the (hot lunch/food) capacity was an individual who issued violent threats to members of our community and who threatened to unleash her dogs on a homeless client... and who is being taken to the supreme court level for her dogs maiming someone

and meanwhile the fucking people I used to respect didn't fire her and hid it from the fucking board

and the reaction to this from someone I loved wasn't accountability it was instead reacting to me assisting the employee who was the whistle blower by suddenly dumping months of random things on me that they decided meant I hated them (wtf I'm transparently autistic of course I walk out of conversations situations when I'm overwhelmed I've been like this since the very first day we met???? how does that mean I secretly wanted to end our friendship?????)

but yet this 'dump' on me only happened... after I confronted them for hiring a literal white supremacist

manipulative b.s., confront your own immoral behaviour or just scream at me about how I made you mad for helping the whistleblower/ex-employee, don't try to moral highground over perceived slights just to self-soothe. peak fucking white liberal bullshit. whines and moans about MAGA down south and then doesn't stop white supremacy when she was the one who fucking hired this turd
