Oh Hello There!

I’ve thought a lot about Shifter Sam’s dynamic with rocky. Particularly the fact that rocky can echolocate, which implies that he might be able to just see into peoples bodies? And with Sam’s transformations, a lot of weird shit is going on there so rocky might be the first person to get clued in on his condition.

additionally, building off of the Rocky echolocation shenanigans. Rocky one day just straight up asking “Why Simon have two skeletons, question?” And then Simon just turning to Rocky, horrified, like “how the fuck do you know that???”

Poor Ryland’s been given human connection for the first time in years and both of them are fucked up mutants.

I imagine that this is sort of a weird roommate situation while they all try and find a way to get everyone to their respective dimensions.

It’s the middle of the night. WereSam, currently in control of his body, is chilling in the living room, not quite being able to sleep. (Extra note, I imagine that WereSam’s in the house because Shifter insisted that he sleep inside instead of out in the halls). Then suddenly, Shifter bursts out of his bedroom wrapped in his cloak. He stumbles over to the bathroom, not even fully closing it behind himself. WereSam just stays there for a moment, confused, when he hears Shifter puking his guts out. He obviously goes to check it out and he finds Shifter practically crumpled over the toilet in the early stages of his transformation. He looks awful, his face is covered in tears and drool, his body is stretched out and bloated and he has an underdeveloped third pair of arms dangling at his sides. It’s clear he’s in a lot of pain, he’s experiencing one of his bad episodes. Shifter tries to assure WereSam that he’s okay, but he’s very clearly out of it and fighting for his life to stay conscious. He can’t even form a proper sentence because of how badly he’s slurring over his words. WereSam just stares at him, not really knowing what to do. He can’t talk as a monster, so he can’t act as moral support. And he can’t exactly fit through the door either to properly assist him. He’s snapped out of his thoughts as he notices Shifter beginning another growth spurt. He doesn’t want his buddy to be stuck in the bathroom in full monster mode so he just gently grabs him and pulls him out of the bathroom. Shifter is too out of it to resist and just curls up on the floor once he’s finally set back down. WereSam just tries to be there for him, curling around him and doing a sort of compression therapy adjacent thing that helps to keep Shifter calm during his transformations. The night is chaotic but quiet to say the least.

I imagine that when they first meet, Shifter doesn’t tell WereSam about his condition at first. The time that they meet is after Shifter’s condition is out in the open, so he’s not actively trying to hide it. But you see, Shifter is a little bit of a dumbass and just doesn’t tell people about his condition until it happens right in front of them. He just kinda takes any opportunity to pretend that he’s just a normal human being. Anyways, the two of them get into a fight. After they win, WereSam is taking a moment to calm down from all of the excitement. Then he turns around, only to see that his strange looking doppelgänger had not only grown claws but an entire second pare of arms. The two of them just stare at each other for a stunned moment, Shifter looking completely mortified. He quickly explains his situation before WereSam can have a chance to start freaking out.

I imagine a time where both of the dudes start experiencing their transformations at the same time. WereSam’s out in the halls, clearly in mass amounts of pain and being very vocal about it. Shifter is just lying on the floor half transformed and listening to WereSam’s screams. I imagine that at this point, the whole incident with WereSam attacking Shifter has already happened, so he knows better than to go out there to keep him company. Shifter is very out of it. He’s in pain, he’s tired, he’s scared, and he can’t do much about it. A part of him wants nothing more than to just open the door and crawl out into the halls, just so that neither of them have to deal with it alone. But he has common sense and knows that will just aggravate WereSam and end in disaster. So, trying to seek some form of comfort in his delirious state, he just drags himself over to the door and leans against it, pretending that it could somehow help to ease his friend’s pain.

as a follow up to the previous story. WereSam wakes up in the halls the next morning, and after getting ready for the day, he tries to open the door only to find a few tones of full Monster Sam leaning against it, snoring away. He probably finds a way to wake him up from the other side, probably knocks on the door very loudly. Shifter apologizes profusely to WereSam once he’s inside.
