I will occasionally reblog posts with suggestive jokes, however nothing outright pornographic or fetishistic. Such jokes will be tagged with #suggestive, so please block that if you don’t wish to engage with that.*
*Explicit asks or suggestive asks from people I don’t know will not be answered. Just because I’m an adult doesn’t mean everybody’s comfortable with that.
I block liberally. Too much negativity? Blocked. Into something I don’t support? Blocked. I come on here to escape from all the bullshit in the world. I don’t want all that on my doorstep.*
*This does not apply to donation posts and/or posts about Palestine. I would never let anybody be silenced or die because I want to feel better.
I swear. A lot. And yell.
I’m a trans man and I’m very vocal about the discrimination we face. Not just discrimination against my brothers, but against all of us.
I’m autistic, so please be patient with me when interacting.
Empty or new blogs with nothing on them will be blocked, as I will assume you’re a bot.
My art + the art I reblog may contain bright colors, eyestrain, artistic nudity, and/or sensitive content in general. All of this will be tagged accordingly.
DNI:
Racists, homophobes, transphobes, sexists, ableists, bigots in general
Besides that, again, I block freely.
Directory:
#my art = self-explanatory
#k1tty thoughts = special tag for my ramblings
#k1tty polls = for any polls I make
#k1tty fics = for fanfiction I’ve written
#k1tty fanart = for any fanart made of me or my other OCs

honestly i think the reason why it’s so common for kids to have the “it’s not a phase, mom” argument in their adolescence is less because they genuinely plan for their current state of being to remain utterly unchanged forever and more because they’re tired of having their interests/self expression/beliefs/etc dismissed as foolish due to being probably temporary
i know that when i was that age i certainly wasn’t thinking about whether or not i’d be into whatever shit i was into then when i was 80, all i knew was that i was sick of feeling like the adults in my life were just rolling their eyes and waiting out everything that was important to me at that moment
On twitter I’m seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.
On tumblr I’m seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.
Be careful who you get your information from. Don’t let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.
I’m going to reblog this again since I see more individuals are inquiring about burnout prevention tips in the notes and it’s why I sought out this resource. I hope it helps you!
What is burnout?
Burnout is the experience of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion often caused by longterm involvement in emotionally demanding situations.
Effects of burnout on a movement.
In a 2015 study it was observed that roughly half of activists who experienced burnout did not take a break or hiatus. Instead, they ended up leaving the movement for good.
Why is burnout common among activists?
Research has highlighted burnout among activists is usually caused by the setting of unrealistically high standards for oneself.
Activists commonly feel the weight of the world upon their shoulders, with a heightened sense of accountability, empathy, and guilt.
Tips to fight burnout.
1. Identify your feelings.
Symptoms of burnout can include:
Anxiety
Guilt
Isolation
Irritability
Anger
Sadness
Pessimism
Disappointment
Numbness
Fatigue
Insomnia
Lack of motivation
Physical pain/sickness
2. Talk to a trusted confidant.
Whether a therapist or a friend, sometimes taking the opportunity to let out your thoughts and feelings with someone who understands us can alleviate stress, or point us in a direction we may not have yet considered.
3. Find healthy outlets.
Work on a coping bank, a go-to list of activities and behaviors that give you a sense of fulfillment, relief, and replenishment when you’re feeling burnout.
4. Learn when to step back.
While your voice is valuable, know that many others are willing to carry on the work you have done, until you’re ready to step back in.
“Just don’t give up what you’re trying to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.” – Ella Fitzgerald.
In about 2 fandoms, I've already seen white fans use "Isn't She Lovely" in their works, and you can tell these people have never engaged with this song before. Or any other Black song
Not a 1 to 1 situation but that reminds me of that one TikTok trend where nonblack ppl (mostly white ppl) used “Keep Ya Head Up” by Tupac as an uplift women song
Then when Black ppl told these ppl that the song was about Black women and maybe they shouldn’t co-opt a song made to uplift Black women for non-Black women, non-Black ppl got mad
They were saying how the song was for all women [which is wrong because it wasn’t, the beginning of the song makes it obvious it clearly was about Black women] and how ppl can interpret the song however they want bc it’s art and art is “meant to be reinterpreted” [which is wrong because a lot of art does have explicit messages/themes that aren’t meant to be ignored and not every reinterpretation is valid or okay to do]
How do non-Black ppl gentrify our art? Like gentrification doesn’t even work like that nor has any to do with art, yet they somehow made it possible to do 💀
Word for word how these people react to Black people saying Isn't She Lovely is a Black cultural song 😭😭😭
And then they be upset when I tell them they culturally appropriating and get suprised when one of their own calls a Black person a slur out of retaliation.
"I don't agree with the slur usage, I just don't think it's racist to use a song under different context!"
Yeah you didn't use a slur but you and that person do essentially agree that Black people are making up stuff to be upset about, and should shut up
I miss da era where u passed out in bath tub cuz u sneezed to hard and fell your ass right on the holiday dinnerfish and it got scared and jumped in the toilet and swam down da drain
it pains me to say it but the more people talk shit about the women who wear those shorts/leggings with the weird butt seam that looks like it gives you a terminal wedgie, the more compelled I feel to take the women’s side
and while we’re at it, I’m done worrying about cameltoe. I don’t have time to be pulling and tugging at my clothes all day. if you can see the outline of my pussy you should say thank you and go about your business

So a creche in ecology is a group of animals that take care of their offspring as a group. Grouping together like this can help with protection against predators, finding food, enduring the weather, and gives the parents time to "rest", as sometimes the parents will alternate who's being the primary watchers while others get to hunt by themselves for a bit, like a baby animal daycare.
But ye lions do this once cubs each a certain age. A decent amount of birds do it (for example: flamingos and a lot of penguin, duck, and goose species). Gharials (a type of South Asian crocodilian) form creches with hundreds of babies from multiple nests (they lay under 100 eggs each and sometimes as few as 20). Feral hogs tend to form groups of mothers and young like this, and I saw 3 sows and like 15+ tiny babies the other day and they were so cute
Rattlesnakes will creche!! In some species mature adult females will hang out together (they're friends!) in shared dens and even birth their clutches together. Then one will babysit while the others go get food. Adult females have been seeing caring for their young like shooing young back into the den when a predator approaches.
You can watch LIVE rattlesnake den mothers and all their babies on Project Rattlecam!!!!
the word empathy is WIDELY misused, even in mental health spaces.
empathy:
is responding to a person’s emotions by experiencing the same emotion as them (i.e. feeling sad when something sad happens to that person, or happy when something happy happens to that person.)
is an automatic response that cannot be controlled
cannot be learned
sympathy:
is recognizing that another person is in pain, even if you do not experience that pain, and offering comfort to that person
is something a person must actively choose to do
can be learned
compassion:
is showcasing care and support via words and actions
is something a person must actively choose to do
can be learned
if you need an example of a person with no empathy who practices sympathy and compassion, look no further than data from star trek: the next generation. he doesn’t have emotions at all, but he’s still kind to people and wants to help them.
stop telling people that they’re evil because they don’t experience empathy. stop equating empathy with morality. stop equating empathy with caring. stop saying that cruel people “lack empathy.” stop throwing neurodivergent and mentally ill people under the bus.
