i really agree with your other post, where you were answering a similar question from an anon, where you mention specifically that kinks are going untagged (not just in audios! in fucking fanfic too!) and that porn culture is blurring the line between kink and sex in a lot of ways. i think that's made hookup culture a lot more traumatic for women and fem presenting people specifically, which has in turn made hookup culture almost a form of selfharm for some women and fem presenting people that i know. this has in turn, permeated into what once was considered to be a safe space for female sexuality (see romantasy, see erotic audios being openly discussed in front of minors on social media platforms that cater towards children like tiktok, etc, etc, etc). there are so many men that use this stuff as an excuse to abuse women and so many men who have only seen kink porn and therefore believe women inherently like this stuff. getting choked during a hookup without first negotiating that kink is so fucking common. i've had friends who have been slapped without having that negotiated, like it's BAD. and SCARY. because of the internet, these safe spaces for female sexuality are oftentimes being seen by men as well. which in turn, for a lot of men i think, gives them this excuse of “oh, women talk about and like this, therefore i can do this to women,” which is very broad and generalizing. every person is different, just because you saw one girl on the internet talk about dark mafia smut doesn’t mean that every single chick wants to be locked up in a basement. 

like the term “good girl” has feel run into the absolute fucking ground because it’s the only form of praise men think women like because that’s what they see when they hear women talk about it on social media. i think that poorly done daddy dom content is a mix of men seeing what women talk about in terms of female sexuality and kink in this very very specific bubble, the blurring of lines between porn and hookup culture, and just smashing them together. the male audio writers that create daddy dom content know that women like calling men daddy, but they don’t necessarily know why, which is the main disconnect. and once again, that’s not to say that there aren’t women that like this content (there are) or that there are women who aren’t writing this content (it’s very abundant), but if we’re talking audio porn specifically the most egregious daddy dom content is written by men who know the kink, think it’s hot, and are approaching it almost entirely from their perspective. imo, bad daddy dom audios are almost self-masturbatory and THAT’S why i don’t like them. you’re creating a product for other people (typically women! whose sexuality has been vilified for literal centuries! if not millenia!) and not considering WHY people want that product. 

This event was supposed to be a free event that showcased artists, dominantly of color, in a black neighborhood for free. If it came to any cost, it was because you paid for VIP access, which is fair. But this year, they’re charging to just get in. Not only is it damn near $44 for a regular ticket, but they’re apparently selling vendor space to advertisers.

That fucking vendor space went to up and coming entrepreneurs who wanted some attention. To add insult to injury, these fucking high profile websites are coming and stealing our culture for profit right in front of our eyes. But who in blue hell is in charge of how afropunk is ran?

I thought they were ran by brothers and sisters but they clearly sold out. The event never was about high profile marquee names, which it has become and represents a problem on a smaller scale that constantly happens to summer festivals. On a larger scale it’s a reminder we can’t have anything for ourselves and we can’t have anything for the youth before it gets sold off to the highest bidder for cash.
