"as above, so below" by birrdie is 1970s small town detective Grian/charlatan psychic Scar.

A very well-written mystery investigation and psychological horror, builds up lots of suspense and makes you question what's real and what's not, what's paranormal and what can be explained logically. One of my fav fanfic iterations of Scar in general, charlatan psychic is such a fun combo of his merchant and wizard personas. Super atmospheric.

"Keeper of my Heart" by SweetTUniverse is parrot hybrid Grian/zookeeper Scar.

Delves into heavier subjects like hybrid dehumanization and trafficking, but is overall very fluffy with the classic "Scar's oblivious ass accidentally courts Grian" trope. Shenanigans ensue. Has chapters from both Scar and Grian's POVs, so you can see each of their thoughts on their relationship progression and trust building (courting, you're courting him Scar).

"SUPERCRITICAL" by MasqueofPlague is HotGuy Scar/journalist (and HotGuy's biggest critic) Grian.

Classic "flirty, arrogant, annoying (but with a heart of gold) HotGuy falls head over heels for civilian Grian that wants totally nothing to do with him" fic. Very funny, lots of witty dialogue and back-and-forths between scarian. Some mystery, some political intrigue, and an absolutely chef's kiss bonus smut oneshot.

"Business As Usual" by ezzriin is stripper (and eldritch horror abomination) Grian/obsessive businessman Scar.

An expectedly raunchier read, features some sex scenes and plenty of explicit talk in general, but is totally worth it. Scar Thinks The Stripper Likes Him, except the stripper is possessed by a very hungry eldritch parasite. Angst, gore, body horror — all the good stuff. (BTW I know a businessman/stipper AU invites some cringy "GRRR alpha CEO" associations, but Scar is a total loser and guyfailure in this.)

I've got more to recommend, these are just some that I hope you and other people give a chance (if haven't already)!
