Damn the man. Save the Empire.

"I, uh…" She licks her lips. "Seriously, sorry. And thanks. And, like, I mean for like, everything. I know you’re probably just being nice and not tellin’ me that I fucked it all up for us. I’m not really a ‘feelings’ kinda girl, or whatever–– but you’re being amazing, and, it’s real rad."

"Oh. Thanks." He smiles at her and then looks away. He stops walking when they eventually come to a little store called Music Explosion on the subway level. After stepping over and magically unlocking the grated fence to look inside, he turns to Viv. "How about here?"

Chewing on her bottom lip now, Viv looks down the corridor. “Yeah, cool.” There is only a brief pause before she starts to walk. “Hey, Jules?”

"Yeah?" he says as he walks.

She releases him slowly and then kneels down to pick up her scythe. “We love each other.”

"Uh...yeah, I guess?" He nods toward a corridor and takes her hand. "Let's go."

"You love me."

"Yeah." He drops his arms from around her to prepare to start moving again.

His words settle in and, suddenly, it’s as though every emotion from the past six months hits Viv directly in the gut. Fingers curling to grip Julian more tightly, she looks him over with sad eyes.

"Viv... Are you okay? I'm sorry."

He sighs. “I can’t. I’m sorry.” He sounds sincere.

"Stop!" He uncovers his eyes. "I'm not doing anything and you can't prove anything. Please leave me alone. I will be fine."

"So you don’t wanna kiss me.”

Completely changing the tone, he puts a hand on her face and leans in very slowly before he kisses her. 

She holds him in silence for a few more long moments and then pulls back, sliding a hand up to hold the side of his face. “Well, you’re really here now.”

"Can I kiss you or should I wait until you remember 100 percent of how awesome I am?"

Despite her head pulsing, Viv tosses her scythe to the ground so that she can properly wrap her arms around him. “That was gonna be my line.”

"No, but, I'm really sorry. You needed me, and I've been a dick."

There’s a pause for her to lick her lips and sniffle before responding. “Well, if you do, put me in something that’ll bring out my eyes. Or my boobs.” She adjusts her grip on his hand and tries to smile through the pain in her head that results from this.

He stops walking and lets go of her hand to embrace her, squeezing her lightly. "I'm sorry," he says again.
