Is it just me or is anyone else failing to find Billie Eilish relatable anymore?

#mine #thoughts #Billie Eilish #like she used to be extremely relatable and that was her main draw but now every headline intended to make her seem more like one of us ...#just feels like the gap is getting bigger.#like her music is still good but each era is completely different now with little overlap and it feels like she's changed so much #maybe I haven't or maybe I changed the other way but where I could listen to her and relate and either feel nostalgia or recognise things #in my present life that relate to that music as of one album ago it changed so much that while it's nice and all it's just not relatable...#not like I'm the beginning. There's still some bangers and some songs that are like “yeah I feel this” like lunch or skinny or whatever #then there's stuff like wildflower though that just go against everything else and feel like they're a different person.#And I don't know if it's cognitive dissonance or what but it's like she's had a brain transplant at times #like the girl that sang xanny is supposed to be the same as the girl in wildflower and it's not gelling together.#the whole wearing big clothes so she's not objectified thing also went out the window...a lot of things I found relatable did.#and a huge part was going from “I'm a vegan but I'm not annoying about it” to “actually if you eat meat you're inherently evil”#like a politician backtracking on all their policies she's going back on so much shit she said that made me fw her.#Also the performative activism #the social silence unless she's shilling some new product #and the company she keeps which is the only way she's seen now. When people use her for views. Esp those ugly brothers she hangs out with..#and the queerbaiting debacle #coming out as gay them backtracking and saying she's bi then kissing girls then kissing guys in public for PR reasons was fucked up.#ATP why come out? Cause you sure as hell aren't doing anything for the community. It feels performative. Like she did it to win the gay ppl #but has no intention to really advocate for LGBT people's. No Pride month posts or nothing.#Not expecting her to start dragging girls around in public (though I wouldn't mind getting purdied up... for the cause of course)#but dragging that ugly mf asshole around? The racist guy who supports a rapist? that's cool with her PR team?#what did he do? knock her up? so now they HAVE to drag his ass out of the bridge he lives under and parade him around like he's something?#I don't like him and I don't like that she hangs with him and idk if it's playing on people's assumptions and he's a beard like I think #and vice versa but it's annoying anyway. She could have picked someone better if that's the case but I guess she has to promote her friends #no matter how shitty

Not all these movies are necessarily good, but the ones that gave me small pop culture epiphanies. It made me realize that 30%-40% of the jokes from modern sitcoms are references/parodies- and these movies are their source material.

^^ This is also true for socializing. So many people I thought were naturally funny were just doing movie bits.

Me and my cousin have an ongoing bit where we pretend we made "slightly better" versions of things where we'll be like.
