Odds are they’re trying to make as little of a scene as possible as they drag you away, and if you’re putting up a fight and very clearly ‘drunk’, eyes will turn on them and they’ll either need to let you go, or cause a serious scene, which they don’t want. Don’t just act like you’re just protesting being taken home, though. Fight like your life depends on it even if they aren’t assaulting you. Cause. A. Scene. That’s the last thing they want.

You are. The things one needs to survive are an intrinsic right. If a village suffers a drought and they die because they cannot afford to buy water from elsewhere, the people who denied them water are fucking evil.

So if it made it free for everyone would you buy slaves to purify water? Because the people who produce have livelihoods too. In addition, it doesn’t make water immune to scarcity

Simply have it be run by the government. I know that’s like, profanity to you people but the government can simply hire the workers to purify and distribute the water. The burden of compensation is divided among the tax payers.

That is still being paid for it’s not free. And you really want to trust the government with ALL of your water? Especially on what they’ve done before?

I already said that the solution wasn’t perfect, but it ensures that companies like Nestle can’t hoard the water and hold it for ransom. Governments supply utilities all the time without much issue. The government supplies water to thousands with no problems. Sure, there have been fuckups. There will always be fuckups. I would rather have a government water supply with only a few major fuckups caused by the occasional corner cutter than a private sector water supply that just shuts it off whenever you can’t pay the bills, and is more likely to fuck up because they want to maximize profits and are more likely to cut corners. I’m not going to immediately entrust all of my water to the private sector because a few dudes in Michigan was fixated on saving money regardless of who was hurt. That attitude is encouraged far more in the private sector and wouldn’t be nearly as present in the government if we’d just give them the resources they need to do what’s needed and stop deciding our political candidates with who’ll save more as a top priority over who will actually run shit properly.

Regardless of who you vote they will always never run shit properly if they have 100% rule over everything that’s a bad idea period.
