2013 is only half way through, and I find myself overwhelmed with all of the exceptional releases so far. To top it off, Pixies have just released new music! The track is called "Bagboy" and it also has a video directed by LAMAR+NIK. You can download the track for free by signing up to their mailing list below.

The Flaming Lips always embrace the weird and wonderful, and this video for "Look... The Sun is Rising", created by Micah Buzan, fits them perfectly. It took over 2,000 drawings to complete and is guaranteed to blow your mind. "Look... The Sun is Rising" is taken from their new album, The Terror, available now on Warner Bros. and Bella Union.

Watch the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' video for "Despair" from their latest album, Mosquito. Surprisingly the band becomes the first in history to play on top of the Empire State Building in New York, and you wonder why it hasn't been done sooner. Directed by Patrick Daughters.

Robyn's Body Talk was released back in 2010, and remains one of my favourite pop releases in recent years. Fast forward to 2013, and to my surprise we have a new video for the triumphant "U Should Know Better" featuring Snoop Dogg. Better late than never.

Washed Out returns with his second album, Paracosm, on August 12 via Weird World, and August 13 through Sub Pop. Here’s a track from it called “It All Feels Right”, complete with a now common trend of accompanying lyric video.

A band of skeletons perform with Islands’ front man Nick Thorburn, in his latest video for “Hallways”, taken from the new album, A Sleep & A Forgetting. Directed by Lex Halaby and Toben Seymour.

The official video for the Foals track "My Number" was a live performance set in a club. It's quite enjoyable in its own right, but it didn't have the wow factor that this one does. Using numbers and the outlines of computer animation (think connect the dots), it's a surreal and unique effect that makes this one of the best videos I've seen so far this year. Directed by Us.
