Girls Over Flowers / Chapter 1
The swimming pool was much harder to find than Yoongi originally thought it would be. He had followed the maps, signs, and any other directions he could collect from people, but he was still stuck wandering down a path through some small forest. Yoongi didnβt know how these rich kids were able to navigate this outrageous campus every day. It had only been twenty minutes on his first day here and he was already hopelessly lost.
As he continued through the twists and turns of the simple dirt path, Yoongi eventually started hearing the distant sounds of a flute. Had he gone crazy? Was that someone playing the flute or was he just subconsciously hoping to find another human on this endless route?
He didnβt have many options besides continuing towards the sound, so he did.
A short walk later, Yoongi found that his ears werenβt in fact playing tricks on him. Right in front of him, there was an ethereal looking girl around his age calmly playing the flute. How she made it look easy and peaceful, he didnβt know. The last time he tried to play the flute it was just him spitting into the poor instrument and he wasnβt even able to produce a sound after all his effort.
He listened more, he stared for longer. Something about the music was just so captivating to him; he could stare for hours.
Then the music stopped. She looked up.
βDo you want something?β she said, her voice sounding just as musical as the instrument she had played. He blinked, not fully comprehending what she had said. It wasnβt until she walked over and flicked his forehead that he finally snapped back to what she asked.
βO-ohβ¦ I was looking for the poolβ¦β he stumbled over his own words.
She didnβt even grant him a response and instead silently pointed down the path he had been traveling on in the first place. He bowed in thanks and that was it. That was probably the last time heβd talk to her.
The rest of the morning occurred monotonously. Sure, there was the initial awe at the pristine pool and the silky-smooth water soothed his tense nature from feeling out of place that morning, but overall nothing exciting really happened. However, the empty pool and changing area was starkly contrasted by the bustling fitness center he was met with as soon as walked through the pool exit. He pushed his way around the gathering crowd to stand on the stairs to the upstairs gym to see what the sudden commotion was about.
A group of four girls walked into the fitness center at that moment and Yoongi heard a collective swoon sweep through the room. He recognized the flute player from earlier walking with this small group. While he tried to figure out why her and her group were such a big deal, the girl leading the three others randomly approached a student near the front of the crowd.
βIβll give you the count of three to leave,β she said to the random student who seemed to cringe back in fear.
βW-what for?β the student murmured. Whoever the girl was counted to three with zero emotion in her voice before turning to one of the others.
βSydney? Do you still have juice left?β she said. The girl, who Yoongi assumed was Sydney, nodded and handed her a small bottle of orange juice. Yoongi leaned over the railing to try and see what the girl planned to do with the bottle.
He didnβt have to wonder for long when the girl walked up to the fear-stricken student and slowly poured the rest of the contents of the bottle onto their head and tossed the empty bottle at their feet. Yoongi then watched the group of four girls depart from the crowd with a shell-shocked expression dropping open his jaw. The crowd quickly disbanded, leaving the victim alone to deal with their humiliatingly-sticky state. But Yoongi just continued to stare in the direction that the four had left, frozen in place due to the scene he had just witnessed.
βWhat is the matter with them?β he wondered aloud, not noticing the group of three boys who had walked up behind him. Yoongi whipped around after hearing a gasp behind him to see the group of three, each with there arms crossed. Their faces were all in shock.
βWho the hell are you?β he said. The middle one stepped forward and lightly shoved him by the shoulder.
βUs?β he rolled his eyes, βSorry for the late introduction. We areβ¦.Hoseok,β he said and the others chimed in with, βBamBamβ and βJacksonβ before the one in the middle finished off their anime-like introduction, βthe F4 protection squad!β
Yoongi didnβt even have time to properly react to their over-the-top introduction because Hoseok already spoke up, βYour little remark couldnβt possibly be about our darling F4, right?β
βF4β¦? You mean that jerk is part of the notorious F4? You canβt be seriousβ¦β he said, eyebrows creasing in genuine confusion.
βNotorious? You mean famous. Be careful with what you say, laundromat boy, you could get yourself in big trouble,β BamBam scoffed
βItβs a dry cleaner, not a laundromat,β Yoongi corrected, fake (mostly smug) smile directed straight at the group of three. They all clicked their tongues disappointedly in unison, slight head shakes to accompany.
βIβll let you off easy this time, dry cleanerβs kid, since youβre new here and, as a commoner, donβt know a thing about the world,β Hoseok said, face twisting in fake pity.
βWhat?β he questioned.
βThe things you said about F4!β BamBam whined.
βI canβt talk about them? Are they really that remarkable?β Yoongi said.
βYou really donβt know a thing about F4, do you?β Jackson finally spoke up. The three sighed in unison and Hoseok gestured for the group to leave. Thus, Yoongi was left alone and wondering what the hell was up with this school and F4.
That evening, Yoongi recruited the help of his little sister Maggie and her computer to figure out what made those girls so remarkable. Through a basic search of each girlsβ name, the two of them managed to find endless results of information.
First, there was Sydney. Her parents ran one of the top construction businesses in the country. They werenβt at Shinhwa levels of success but, in addition to construction, her family were real estate tycoons. Their organization ran multiple high-class clubs and saloons. Sydney herself was in line to take over the business and ran quite a few side projects herself.
Second, there was Emma. The only one of the four who made a name for herself, mostly. Extremely talented with pottery, her work debuted at the Biennale at 16 as the youngest artist. However, she doesnβt fit the βstarving artistβ stereotype. Her grandfather founded a very famous museum making their family worth far too much to even fathom.
Third, there was JL. Granddaughter of the former president. Her parents died in a horrible crash when she was a very young age. She owns the Suam Art Foundation, a soccer team in Europe, and a Major League baseball team.
Lastly, there was Kasia. She was the leader of the βfamousβ F4 and was successor for the Shinhwa Group, the largest company in the country that maintains multiple monopolies to this day. If you thought the other F4 families were well off, then multiply that success by at least 3 and you have the value of her family.
Compared to these standards, his familyβs dry-cleaning shop looked like a tiny dust fleck. Yoongi would be lying if he said he wasnβt at least a little intimidated. But still, Yoongi was determined to put these snobs in their place. It doesnβt matter how much money you have, no one deserves to treat others that way.
The night came and went, leaving Yoongi stuck going to school for another day. About halfway through the day, Yoongi started his lunch period on the highest floorβs balcony completely away from other people. There was no way he was being caught by that psycho group of three guys that claimed to be the βF4 protection squadβ.
He took a deep breath in before shouting, βKasia! You donβt deserve to take over Shinhwa Group if youβre that big of a jerk! Sydney, Emma, JL, youβre all just as bad for letting her act like a spoiled brat!β Yoongi continued shouting for awhile until he felt a single tap on his shoulder. Whipping around, he found himself faced with JL.
βYou should probably breathe,β she said, amused smile and a twinkle in her eyes. He stuttered for a bit not knowing what to say.
βFirst you ruin my peace and quiet up here and then you start calling me a jerkβ¦.you really know how to win a girlβs heart,β she giggled, walking over to the far wall and leaning against it. He reached up to uncomfortably scratch at the back of his neck.
βS-sorryβ¦I didnβt know you were-β
βHere? Yeah, I get that a lot. Iβm pretty quiet,β she finished for him. He looked down, thinking of what to say to her. He wasnβt exactly used to being caught badmouthing someone.
His head snapped up when he figured it out only to find that she had already disappeared. The interaction ended even faster than it started.
Yoongi sighed and looked out at the streets down below the school one more time before picking up his lunch box and heading inside to eat. As soon as he walked into the dining area, his stomach growled at the aromatic foods lined up on a large buffet for the students to eat. Unfortunately, one week of food for his entire family probably wouldnβt pay for this one meal, so he was reduced to eating whatever his mother had packed for him.
He frowned and walked past the far-too-tempting foods to sit at a table in the far corner. Though, he was immediately approached by the three guys from the day before as soon as he stuck a huge chunk of rice and egg in his mouth.
βEnjoying the food?β Hoseok teased, leaning over and picking off a stray piece of rice that was clinging to Yoongiβs cheek.
Yoongi took a deep breath through his nose and elected to ignore the group. They proved that doing so would be difficult when Jackson whipped out of a thing of cologne when the others plugged their noses. βIt stinks of commoner over here,β he said, aggressively spraying the cologne while Yoongi desperately tried to cover his food. While they were laughing smugly at Yoongiβs glare, their group was pushed apart by another boy.
βIs it okay if I sit here?β the boy shyly asked, glancing at the empty seat across from Yoongi. He wasnβt sure what to say when he noticed that this boyβs interruption succeeded in getting rid of the βF4 protection squadβ, so he nodded at him with a hesitant smile. The boy grinned and quickly sat across from him.
βIβm Jimin!β he practically chirped, looking way too happy to find a seat.
βIβm Yoongiβ¦not to be rude but why are you sitting here?β he said, eyeing him suspiciously. The boy seemed too cute to want to sit next to him without an ulterior motive. Jimin laughed slightly nervously under Yoongiβs calculating stare.
βPeople donβt like transfer studentsβ¦. I figured since you were a transfer student, too, that we could be friends,β he said, tentatively biting into a piece of his meal. It was a good enough answer for Yoongi. They spent the rest of the lunch period with Yoongi happily eating his lunch and Jimin chatting away. Once the bell rang to signal the end of their lunchtime together, Yoongi smiled at the boy across from him.
βSee you later, new friend,β Yoongi said before leaving to go to his class.
The final bell rang to signal the end of the day and Yoongi rushed out to go to work. Usually he wasnβt excited to go but today he couldnβt wait to be away from here and be there instead. He slammed the door to the porridge shop open excitedly only to, momentarily, get tackled by his friend in a hug.
βHow is your new school? Do they have good food? Are the desks nice? They must be nice. You arenβt going to leave me for new friends, are you? Did you make friends with F4? Is F4 as beautiful as everyone says?β he said, ready to ask even more questions before Yoongi pressed a finger to his lips.
βTaehyung, I canβt answer your questions if you keep asking them so quickly,β Yoongi sighed, getting away from his friendβs death-grip hug. His friend smiled his famous square smile and chuckled, βSorryβ¦.β
Yoongi shrugged, βSo my new school sucks, other than the pool. I donβt even eat the food there because it costs me an arm and a leg to eat, itβs way too expensive. The desks are just desks, I didnβt realize there was a difference in quality. Iβve only kind of made one friend. His name is Jimin. What am I missingβ¦..oh! F4 are mean and cruel and I never want to speak to them ag-β the rest of his answer was cut off from Taehyung putting a hand over Yoongiβs mouth.
βYou canβt say stuff like that about the F4,β Taehyung hissed, looking around nervously as if someone was going to come out of hiding to kill them for what Yoongi had said. Yoongi rolled his eyes and licked Taehyungβs hand, who quickly pulled his arm away to wipe his hand on his apron in disgust.
βTheyβre just people, so what if theyβre rich? Theyβre still bulliesβ¦β Yoongi grabbed a rag on the counter to start doing his job for the day.
βReally? What makes you say that?β Taehyung asked, closely following behind Yoongi after his interest had been piqued by the possible suggestion of F4βs cruelty. He knew that Taehyung wouldnβt leave him alone till he explained the situation; thus, he proceeded to tell him everything that happened since he started attending Shinhwa High. From briefly seeing JL playing the flute all the way to his budding friendship with Jimin.
βWow,β was all Taehyung said at first. Yoongi knew better than to assume that was all Taehyung would say. So he waited for the inevitable onslaught of questions that would come from his best friendβs mouth.
βYouβre going to fight these girls, right? Oh, fight their little protection squad too while youβre at it. I know you arenβt supposed to fight girls, but if they think they can act like this then they probably need a little fight to knock the mean-ness out of them,β Taehyung babbled, clearly still thinking through everything that Yoongi βdefinitely needed to doβ.
βI will find justice for all of their victims,β Yoongi looked up wistfully and pumped his fist in the air like a fictional character.
βWaitβ¦. This might not actually be a good idea. They can use their money against you. Your family isnβt exactly rich,β Taehyung came in with the perfect timing to remind Yoongi that life isnβt like an anime. His determined face fell briefly before it came back with greater force.
βSomeone has to do it. And Iβll be that someone,β he said. Taehyung sighed; for once he felt like the more rational friend while watching Yoongiβs antics. Their planning, however, was interrupted by the bell above the door signaling a new customer. Yoongi quickly turned to greet the customer only to find that Jimin had come in.
βOh! Hi Jimin! I didnβt think Iβd see you here,β Yoongi said, smiling at the boy who still stood shyly in the doorway.
βHiβ¦sorry to bother you while youβre working. You had left your things in the classroom. I found a card taped in it with the address to your familyβs dry-cleaning shop and your parents told me I could find you hereβ¦β he said, showing the bag in his hands. Yoongi suddenly realized his mistake; in his rush to leave, he left his things in the classroom and only grabbed the bag that was still in his locker. He grabbed the stuff from Jimin and nodded in thanks.
βUhβ¦ Iβm off work in about 2 hours. If you can stay, can I get you ice cream as thanks? Iβm sorry you went through all this trouble for me,β he said. Jimin just smiled and nodded, finding somewhere to sit in the shop.
Since Jimin lived near the school, they had walked back near the school to eat their ice cream. They were playing some strange form of tag despite their mostly full ice cream cones when Jimin tripped and fell on a small edge in the pavement. He fell and dropped his ice cream. Right onto someoneβs shoe. Both Yoongi and Jimin nervously glanced over to see Kasia glaring right at Jimin. He immediately began to profusely apologize and said heβd do anything for her forgiveness.
βAnything?β she said. Jimin nodded.
βKneel down and lick it off my shoe,β she gestured to the ice cream covered heel she was currently wearing. A shocked silence fell in the group and Jimin glanced back at Yoongi pitifully. Yoongi wasnβt entirely sure what that look meant. Maybe Jimin was upset that he was likely to get a red card now.
But then, he began to kneel.
βStop!β Yoongi shouted, pulling Jimin back up. All the girls except Kasia seemed astonished at his protest. Kasia, however, was fuming.
βWhy the hell would someone have to lick your shoe? It was an accident and he apologized for it, isnβt that enough?β Yoongi said.
βDo you not know who I am?β Kasia said, stalking angrily over to Yoongi. Jimin quickly moved to hide behind Yoongi due to her quick approach.
βI know youβre a spoiled brat who didnβt earn anything she has,β he growled, meeting her angry glare in a stare-down. She scoffed and gestured for the whole group to follow her. Yoongi was feeling proud of himself till she called out one last remark.
βI hope you like the color red!β she said.

Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Following the awkward encounter between Namjoon, Taehyung, and myself, I spent the rest of the morning learning about the group of boys through observation (and somewhat from Kasia and Sydney). While they were all extremely different, each one managed to get along with the others. Some got along better than others, of course. Some, like Yoongi and Seokjin, got along really well. I found that out when Yoongi casually sat next to Seokjin on a haphazardly-placed couch in the living room to initiate, according to everyone else, a βlight make out sessionβ.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β They were an interesting group, to say the least.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β The makeshift meet and greet slowly began to die down as mostly everyone in the room retreated to get some sleep before class later that day. I wish I could say that I was included in that bunch but, unfortunately, by the time I had left I only had about an hour until my first class for the day. So, rather than crawling back into my silky-soft sheets for about five more hours of sleep, I settled for as big of a cup of coffee as I could manage.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β I let the robust flavors of the coffee soak in while I sipped away in my chair at the small dining table. But my peaceful cup of coffee in the early hours of the morning didnβt last long before I heard movement in the kitchen.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β By the time I decided to stand and go greet whichever roommate happened to be up this early in the morning, I heard a pair of voices.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βHoseok we canβt keep doing th-β her voice was interrupted with her own sharp inhale of breath. I told myself that I couldnβt imagine what could possibly cause her interruption, even if it was a lie. Moments later I could hear a response.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βDonβt worry, I told you he wonβt find out. You wonβt break his little heart more than you already haveβ¦β he said, a light laugh escaping him with an exhale. Another thud.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βYou know itβs not him Iβm worried aboutβ¦. seriously Hoseok, stop for two seconds and listen to me,β she said. I pondered stepping in at this moment, but I figured that all that would manage to do was make the situation worse. Whatever this situation even was. A slightly louder thud and a gasp.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βHe doesnβt care what you do. Just shut up and kiss me already,β he huffed.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β I couldnβt let myself eavesdrop on this for any longer since I had finished my cup of coffee, so I ended up walking back to my shared room. However, the one issue with shared rooms decided that now was the time to make itself known. The single sock hanging from the doorknob was enough to tell me I shouldnβt go in. I couldnβt exactly go back to the common area either, though.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Knocking on the door a few times, I warned my roommate that I was coming in after about 2 minutes whether she liked it or not. If she asked why, then I could tell her I needed my stuff for class anyways. I gained no response.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Though, true to my word, I waited about 2 minutes before barging into the room. Iβve never regretted a decision more in my life. How are all these boys even getting in here without me noticing? I didnβt care to entertain that thought, so instead I grabbed my bookbag and decided braving the kitchen would be a much safer option. Ignoring JLβs yelling directed at my intrusion, I closed the door behind me and leaned against it for a moment to cast the images currently running through my brain out.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β After quite the βexcitingβ morning, I was anticipating the boring monotony of my professorsβ lectures that day. Math and European History surely wouldnβt have any plot twists for me, right?
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Now all I had to do to escape was sneak past the kitchen. The voices from earlier seemed to have gone as I approached the common area. As I tiptoed my way through, I noticed that not only the voices had gone but that the people with those voices had gone as well.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β I was free.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β With earbuds on and hands in my pockets, I made my way to class to leave the events of the morning behind me. I had learned far too much about my new-ish roommates for my liking. At least I understood why JL seemed so secretive. Her activities with that man in her room this morning screamed βsomething that needs to be hiddenβ. I wasnβt about to intervene, though. I had my fair share of shady escapades with men I shouldnβt have been with. There was still an inkling in the back of my mind that I should at least ask her about it, however.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β But for now, I had finally arrived at the lecture hall for class that morning. I was surprised to find a newly familiar face waving at me when I entered the room. A large hesitance settled in my stomach as I walked over to him. I had decided that I was going to avoid him but clearly that wasnβt working too well for me.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βHey Namjoonβ¦β I muttered, tightly clutching the strap of my bookbag.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βI didnβt know you were in this class,β he smiled warmly at me.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βYeahβ¦Iβve been here since last Mondayβ¦β I said simply, a blank stare trained on him. He laughed slightly uncomfortably and motioned for me to sit down in the empty seat to his left. I continued standing.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βWhy are you acting so strange? I donβt bite, unless you want me to,β he started to realize the tension in the situation and was probably trying to crack it with a lame joke. It made me laugh and a slight blush dusted my cheeks at the implied innuendo. But I still couldnβt help myself from wanting to avoid him. I know far too well what his type is like.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β But the professor walked in and, after they gave me an unamused glare, I gave up and sat down in the seat to Namjoonβs left. Hopefully the class would be short.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Throughout the class, I would glance at him. He would glance back. Heβd smile that goddamn smile with those perfect fucking dimples. Iβd look away and pretend I didnβt notice. It seemed we were stuck in a hopeless loop.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β I practically darted out of the room as soon as everyone thanked the teacher and began to leave for the next class. However, in my panic, I didnβt see the man waiting outside for his class to start in the room I was trying to leave. And I ran straight into him. Scattering his and my books all over the floor.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βEmma?β
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β βOh...Jimin.β
Mirage / Chapter 1
I wake up promptly at about 2 AM every morning to the sounds of distant EDM music blasting through the walls of my dorm. This Saturday was no exception.
I waited a few moments to see if the sound would die down. But, of course, that solution was far too simple. The music continued and arguably got louder as the notes rattled through my skull. I reluctantly stood and stumbled through the small common room that acted as a gathering area for my 4 other roommates. Luckily the door was unlocked so I didnβt have to fumble with the knob for that long in my drunken-like, sleepy state.
A short walk down the hallway later, I arrived at our next-door neighborsβ dorm. If they were going to wake me up at this hour, then they could deal with my groggy wrath.
My fist pounded on the door for about a minute before a smiling face greeted me upon opening the door. Though, their smile quickly fell as they took in the sight of my hooded eyes, eccentric, unkempt hairstyle, and long t-shirt accompanied with slide-on slippers.
They cleared their throat, music still blaring from behind them, βIs there something I can help you wi-β
My eyes moved from their face to fixating on a stereo in the room and, ignoring their words, I pushed past them into the room. In a beeline towards the stereo. What this dorm of 7 guys was doing at 2 AM with this stereo, I didnβt know. All I knew was that I was turning it off.
The music abruptly halted as I slammed my palm on the off button, resulting in 7 pairs of eyes turning to me.
βThank you. Goodnight,β I said before promptly making my way back to my own dorm.
A smile spread across my face when my open door revealing my bed was finally in view. The subtle way I always sink into the memory foam, pillows cupping my face like a cloud, and sheets gently tickling my skin with the cool fabric all came to mind. A good night of sleep was in my reach.
But, all good things come to an end. The end to this good thing adopted the look of another girl around my age.
Kasia practically bounced over to me with endless amounts of energy for this time of morning. She spent her time sleeping in class rather than in her bed like everyone else. This fact rarely bothered me right until this moment where she blocked my path to the only place Iβd want to be: my bed.
βWhat do you want Kasia?β I asked while still finding an alternate route past her.
βDid you see Jimin while you were at the boysβ dorm?β she asked hopefully.
βWho the hell is that? I just moved here a week ago. You know I havenβt actually talked to any of them before,β I mumbled, annoyance growing by the second.
βIβve pointed him out to you before! Cβmon Emma, I just want to know what he looks like in the morningβ¦for blackmail purposes, of course,β she was pouting at this point, likely hoping Iβd pity her puppy-like eyes.
βJust go over there yourself if youβre so desperate to know. Iβm sure theyβd be more than happy to see a girl finally,β I chuckled to myself, mentally high-fiving myself at the lame insult.
βWhose dorm are we going to?β Sydney suddenly appeared in the common area, looking surprisingly put together for the time.
βJiminβs! Want to come with Emma and I?β Kasia grinned, arm draped around my shoulders. Sydney rolled her eyes before walking over to the door, mumbling about how βsomeone needed to keep the two of us in checkβ.
βFirst of all, Iβm not going. I have a date planned with my bed right now. Second of all, do any of you actually sleep?β I asked, exasperated, as I was unwillingly dragged to the aforementioned dorm by Kasia.
My questions left ignored, Kasia happily marched over and knocked on the boysβ door a few times. With Sydney following close behind, I tried to slink back to our room only to be quickly stopped. I opened my mouth to protest but my voice died in my throat when the prettiest boy I had ever seen answered the door. I had no idea how I missed him on my first trip to the dorm that night (or was it morning?).
βOhβ¦hi Kasia!β he smiled at her and turned to Sydney before simply commenting, βhey.β Kasia smiled back at him while Sydney only nodded in return. Interesting. Β
βWhoβs she?β he asked, not even looking at me as he gestured in my direction.
I managed a fake cough and a simple wave to grab his attention, βIβm over here, thanks for noticing, and my name is Emmaβ
βSheβs our uhβ¦new roommate,β Kasia said as her hand reached up to uncomfortably scratch her neck. Jimin simply formed an βohβ shape with his mouth in acknowledgement.
Without another word, Jimin stepped back from the doorway. Β And immediately after I was nudged inside by the two girls who forced me to come here. I, for the second time that night, had 7 pairs of eyes on me. Suddenly the pressure to not fall on my face had increased dramatically.
βUm..I think JL needed me to go buy her clothes,β I suddenly blurted out with an absolutely bullshit excuse as I turned to escape. Unfortunately, Sydney and Kasia both predicted my next move and my attempt to leave was met with different hands gripping both of my arms and pulling me back into the room.
While I wallowed in my misery, Kasia and Sydney eventually separated to talk to one of the guys sitting around the room. With this, a glimmer of hope sparked inside of me at the open door. Step by step, I crept closer to the exit and my hope continued to grow with every movement. My retreat was so close I could practically taste it.
Though, my view was suddenly blocked by a large expanse of black and I felt myself bump into something that was between tough and cushion-y. βDid I just go blind? Well shit, these glasses were hella expensive. Why arenβt they working?β
The black void moved and nudged me back a little. Thus, my next logical move was to nudge the black void back in return. βWait did this weird void just laugh at me? How did it do that?β While I pondered the abilities of inanimate objects to speak, my eyes were trained on the wide expanse of black in front of me.
βYouβre a strange one, arenβt you?β it said. I looked up at the source of the voidβs voice.
βTurns out βitβ isnβt a void. And βitβ was actually a βheβ. A very handsome βheβ at that. What the fuck is with this dorm and all these handsome men? This canβt be good for my heal-β
His hand interrupted my thoughts with a slow wave in front of my eyes, a concerned expression warping his features, βAre you okayβ¦?β
I accepted the inevitability of interaction in this scenario and opted for a slight nod. I thought the interaction would end with that but then he had to go ahead and smile the cutest fucking smile I had ever seen, complete with dimples and all, that felt like an arrow right to the heart. Right when I got the idea to say something to interrupt this strange staring contest, a voice behind me interrupted before I even spoke.
βAre you hypnotizing this poor girl with your smile, Namjoon?β A hand patted my shoulder. Handsome not-voidβs smile was replaced with an unamused quirk of the eyebrow that seemed intimidating till the sound of soft laughter from the man behind me tickled my ears and lightened the slightly menacing view in front of me.

Girls Over Flowers (BTS x GC 1 AU) / Prologue
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Yoongi lazily pedaled to the location of his next delivery. It was a nice day outside; the birds were chirping, sun shining, and a slight breeze cooling him down just like every βperfect dayβ in the movies. But he was stuck riding around and delivering dry-cleaning.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Mondays suck.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β He sighed and reluctantly picked up his pace. The faster he pedaled, the faster this stupid job was done. This was supposed to be a rushed delivery anyways, since it was some rich kid who decided to get their gym uniform dry-cleaned for some reason. Why his father accepted the job, he didnβt understand. But he guessed it had something to do with paying the bills even if the work is degrading.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Suddenly, Yoongi skidded to a stop in front of the fanciest building he had ever seen. βIs this really the school?β he thought.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β He carefully dismounted his seat on the bike and walked it up to the front of the school building where a crowd had formed. Everyone seemed to be looking up at something but Yoongi was focused on finding the owner of the stupid gym uniform and leaving. Rich kids had a certain smell that threw him off. Thus, he asked around to see if anyone knew the kid dumb enough to dry-clean a gym uniform.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β It took a few tries but, eventually, Yoongi received an answer in the form of a pointing finger directed at the roof of the building in front of him. Following the direction of the finger, he saw a girl around his age standing on the ledge giving some sort of speech to the others on the roof. A brief moment of hesitation ran through Yoongiβs mind before he abruptly dropped his bike and sprinted to find a way onto the roof.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β No one was going to jump off of a roof before they paid him the fee. Itβs not like they get many opportunities to clean rich kidsβ uniforms.

Girl Meets Evil / Part 2
Her head snapped up to meet his gaze as he strolled down the hall nonchalantly, hands resting in his pockets. She held her breath as she watched him, afraid to move. He leaned on the wall next to the couch she was on casually, looking down at her with a smile.
"So what's on the menu today?" he asked.
"What?" she said, eyes widening in surprise
"For tutoring...what were you thinking of?" he smirked. Jin moved to stand in front of her, leaning against the back of the couch behind her with one hand and trailing his other slowly up her thigh. She rolled out of the way and quickly stood up.
"N-nothing...I'm just going to go check what you guys have," she gestured to the kitchen and stumbled back towards it. Jin smiled at her as she walked out, her puppy-like personality being quite amusing. Though, his smile fell as she left. He couldn't keep an act up all the time after all.
He could hear her rustling through cabinets and opening the fridge from time to time. A spike of amusement hitting him everytime he heard one of the other guys come in to tease her but those spikes never really lasted for long.
---
Jin could practically feel every second pass as the time she spent rummaging in their kitchen dragged for longer.
"I think I found something!" he finally heard her soft voice ringing out.
With a sigh he stood up, smoothing out his slightly wrinkled clothes. He typically wouldn't even be dressed at this time of day. A little modesty in front of his new toy never hurt.
His head peeked around the corner with a renewed smile, "Find anything as yummy as you?"
Emma elected to ignore his slight innuendo and held up a recipe book turned to a page disclosing how to make pizza. She peered over the edge of the book at him, "I figured since most guys like pizza it would be helpful for you to know how to make your own..."
"Where the hell did you find a recipe book?" he walked over and took the book from her hands, flipping through the pages.
She blushed and gestured to an opened bag that was full of books, "I brought my own. I just left them on the kitchen counter last night." Jin set the book on the counter next to them and gently pinched her cheeks.
"Is it even possible for you to be cuter than this?" he grinned.
Her hands reached up to smack his, taking a step back, "Don't touch me, your hands are probably dirty."
Though it was probably her own paranoia, it seemed to Emma that his grin turned a bit more sinister as he stepped towards her.
After a few long strides he had backed her into a counter. Emma tensed up in anticipation, bracing herself for something to happen but, instead, he just giggled and reached behind her to get something in the cabinet.
"Your face makes it seem like I'm about to murder you or something. I was just getting something to make the dough in," he said, showing the large mixing bowl now in his hands to her. Suddenly, she felt all the breath she had been holding in leave her in a gush of relief.
"You really are something Mr. Seokjin..." she muttered, mostly to herself, as she went to collect everything else they needed to successfully complete a pizza.
---
As the hours progressed and the pizza continued to be made, the tension slowly started to disipate. Maybe it was because Jin's hands were focused on kneading the dough instead of her but Emma hated him a bit less. Thus, she decided to give Julie a call and tell her she didn't really need the moral support after all. Excusing herself to the bathroom, she pulled her phone out of her pocket as she shut the bathroom door behind her.
As she went to dial Julie's number, Emma saw that she had gotten multiple texts since she last checked her phone from Julie.
-[11:07 AM] Julie: Hey
-[11:07 AM] Julie: I'm standing in front of the house, where are you???
-[11:15 AM] Julie: Nvm, someone just let me in
-[11:17 AM] Julie: Why did you need my help??? This Jin guy is hella cute
With a sigh, she typed out a quick response.
-[11:20 AM] Emma: I was just about to call you to tell you not to come. Sorry I didn't call sooner.
She waited about five minutes for a response but it never came through. "That's odd," she thought. Pocketing her phone once again, Emma flushed the toilet and washed her hands so Jin wouldn't be suspicious of her.
Her footsteps slowed to a stop outside the archway because she heard Jin's voice.
"Who was he talking to?"
Then she heard Julie's laugh and relief flooded through her for the second time today. If it was just Julie, then everything is all good. With little to no hesitation, Emma cheerily walked through the archway and making eye contact with Jin.
He had smirked at her and she didn't really know why till she saw her friend's hand down the front of his pants. She slapped a hand over her eyes before anyone could react and turned away from the pair.
"What the hell Julie! It's only been like ten minutes since you got here!" you exclaimed, face turning red.
"I'm just very persuasive...wouldn't you agree?" he said, his voice only slightly strained despite the location of Julie's hand.
Emma proceeded to quickly leave the room, hand still covering her eyes as she avoided furthering the conversation. Although, her current lack of sight led to her running straight into someone else.
"Oh s-sorry, my bad. I'm just trying to leave..." Emma tried to side-step whoever she had run into but they grabbed her arm.
"Why are you covering your eyes then? Doesn't that make it harder to leave?" they said, amusement twinkling in their deep voice. Emma peered between the gaps of her fingers to find Taehyung grasping her arm.
Jin wearing headbands for @okeuphemia
@seokin
He should wear headbands all the time, thanks.
Girl Meets Evil / Part 1.5
Emma woke up the morning following the party with a splitting headache. She never really was very good at handling alcohol (hence why she usually tried to avoid drinking). Moving to sit up, wanting to undergo her daily morning stretches and drink a gallon of water, she found herself restricted by an arm grasping her waist and a leg draped over hers carelessly. She maneuvered onto her side to see who was next to her and, in her panic, the tossing and turning awoke the person next to her. Their gazes met and, while he smiled cutely at her, she scrambled out of the bed.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me! What did you make me drink yesterday?" she exclaimed. He simply laughed in return, running a hand through his hair as the blanket slipped down.
She shrieked, seeing his bare state revealed with the blanket, "Where's your shirt?!"
"It's on you..." he said as if it was obvious, his eyes slowly raking down her body.
She nearly gagged at his conspicuous stare, suppressing the feeling as she started pacing, "We didn't uh....we didn't do anything, right?"
He just winked at her and moved to grab his phone from the nightstand. She sighed exasperatedly and moved to grab her pants that had somehow ended up on top of the dresser in the night's events. After waiting a few more moments, she turned to him and crossed her arms with her pants still in her hands.
"You're really not going to tell me what happened?" she raised an eyebrow, his attention slowly shifting from his phone to her.
"Would you rather talk about when you were pinned to my door or when I had you on my dresser?" he smirked, dimming the screen of his phone and setting it aside.
She opened her mouth to protest when he suddenly got up from the bed and took a step toward her. She responded by taking a step back. They continued this way till he had her trapped between himself and the wall. She avoided his eyes, looking over his shoulder to keep from doing anything she'd regret. He slowly leaned in close to her, their faces practically touching as he murmured his next few words into her ear.
"You excited to tutor me today?" he whispered, a smirk curling his lips deviously.
"Wait what?" her gaze snapped up to his abruptly, wildly confused.
"We're on the schedule for today, my dear..." he kissed her cheek and she rapidly scrubbed at her face to 'get rid of the kiss' (much to his amusement).
"Oh...well uh...move so I can put on my pants," she said.
"Aw are pants really that necessary?" he said, looking down at her with pleading eyes and a jut-out lip positioned in a pout. She was not fooled by his puppy-like nature and shoved him off of her with a scoff. He reached to grasp at her arm as she leaned down to put her pants but she just pulled her arm away and shuffled further from him, rapidly pulling the pants up and buttoning them.
"You're no fun," he said, whining like a kid who was told 'no' to getting candy at the grocery store.
"All work and no play today, got it?" she ignored his previous statement and glanced at him while opening his bedroom door.
"So we can have fun tomorrow?" he grinned, finding a loophole in her statement.
"Shut up and get dressed," she rushed out the door quickly after that, shutting it behind her and sighing heavily.
This was not how she planned to start her morning; sleeping with guys that she's supposed to be teaching isn't her style typically but apparently it is now. Shaking her head at the thought, she ran a hand through her hair to smooth it down (she knew that it would definitely look like they had slept together if she didn't take care of her hair). Being in his shirt wasn't ideal but she didn't exactly know where her's was and she wasn't about to go back into his room to check.
One thing she really did need was her phone. If she was going to be with this pervert all day, then Emma definitely needed moral support.
Tiptoeing down the stairs, terrified that she'd wake someone up, Emma made her way to the evil couch that her and Jin had been on last night. She didn't like that couch anymore. But, regardless, she scanned the items scattered on its surface to see if she had dropped her cellphone there. All she found was a blanket, some random drink cups, bottles, or cans....is that a gaming controller?
Practically everything but the thing she was looking for was on that dumb couch.
She was about to give up and accept her fate when she heard someone clear their throat, "Looking for this?"
Emma flipped around in a panic, seeing the source of the voice and her phone in their hands.
"How did you find that?" she asked tentatively, walking over and snatching it from their hands. They simply chuckled in response.
"I found it outside of Jin's door. You should be more careful with it, especially since you recorded some... inappropriate things last night," they winked at her.
"I did?! You didn't watch them, did you?" she said, her eyes wide at the mere prospect of anyone seeing her in compromising situations.
"Just a couple," they shrugged.
"Namjoon!" she shrieked, her face lighting up in a dark red color due to her current embarrassment.
"Calm down, you couldn't see anything. Your phone must have been in your pocket. You have a beautiful voice, though," he laughed, patting her shoulder and walking away.
It took her a few moments of shock after he had left to lift her phone up and dial a friend's number. She sat down on the couch as she heard it ring a couple times before they picked up.
"What do you want? It's too early for your bullshit..."
"Julie, I need you to come to the frathouse I'm tutoring in. Some stuff happened last night, I'm not sure what, but apparently I have to tutor him today and I'm super nervous," she spoke quickly, her words stringing together.
"Woah woah woah, slow down. I didn't catch any of that," she sighed.
"Just come to the frathouse, you know the one. Please," she was desperate for help now, knowing Jin would be out of his room any minute.
"Fine. I'll be there in a couple hours. Bye."
"Wait-" Julie hung up before Emma could finish her sentence. In frustration, she threw the phone onto the couch. She didn't want to be stuck with Jin alone for 2 hours. There is so much that he could do in 2 hours. For all she knew, he could drug whatever they bake and suddenly she's being sold in some weird underground auction.
"Okay that's probably dramatic. But still," she muttered to herself, looking for ways to escape when Jin's door suddenly opened.
