Gangle raised her head from where she'd opted to curl up in a coil pile. "Oh, hi Jax. It'sss been a while," she greeted softly, her tongue flicking out as she spoke. She'd quickly discovered that the cold made her sleepy, and she'd been expending a lot of energy trying to slither back to her room (especially since she'd had minimal success). It was harder to move around without legs than she'd thought.

Pomni could normally take his calloused jabs with a good natured eyeroll, or sass she’d dish right back…but after what they’d all endured today, his voice cut like a barb.

She didn’t have the emotional strength to handle a moment more of hurt. “I meant just…stay in my room to keep me company for a bit, but fine.” She turned away. “Forget I asked then.”

Pomni knew insinuating he might be the one that was fragile would cause his defenses to come down faster than she could blink, so she was careful with her phrasing.

”It…won’t fix anything, no. But…I still don’t want to be alone, after everything we faced today. I-I…could use your company, for a bit.”
