Ramparts: Koyun's finally realized she has feelings for Minato, and I realized I find this part of the story actively off-putting is because I simply don't comprehend how that could happen. Like with Yota/Koyun or Yota/Miki, they were already great friends and so dating seem like more of that. But even when Minato intentionally stopped being a creep, I don't see how that could get to Koyun "developing" feelings for him when she used to dislike him. Just doesn't make sense

I think it's funny how Momoka seems to be the only one aware what genre they're in, and yet vastly overestimates how important her character is. It also looks like she's trying to date Koyun as much as she is Minato, but sadly I don't think anyone is going to point that out

I'm surprised they put the last episode as part of this season, when season 2 is confirmed as well. It's not like we got either Koyun or Minato's confession — Momoka revealing it would've been a good place to start season 2. And the cliffhanger of Miki finding out Yota likes her would be just as good a place to stop as this anti-confession scene between them

Ramparts: Oh hey, random cameo from library girl. The author likes this archetype. I've thought Yota would be perfect for Koyun for a while, but the emphasis in this Igurashi sequence also makes it seem reasonable for her to be happy as aro. Wish that was an option

Oh great, I can ship Tsukko with Miki now. That frees up Yota. I was also wondering when all those other people from the OP were going to show up; we're more than two-thirds through the season

I don't think I like Kiriki yet, but at least someone is finally talking about what's going on. I get the boys not wanting to confess, but at least they should talk to each other, and likewise Koyun and Miki

AND ANOTHER THING this manga is doing is somehow depicting a very realistic but alternate portrayal of how insecurity can manifest. Hikawa can dislike herself and STILL want to be herself!! Her way of being insecure isn't to try and fit into a mould or bemoan the fact that she'll never be able to connect. It's not even about her internalising all the abuse she's endured, so far it seems (I'm on ch 26), but being so tired of her interests, personality, preferences, and wants being ignored that she's just kind of decided the world will hate her. And okay, she'll hate herself too but she won't change. She'll just stop trying to be a part of the world

Already just a few chapters into Ramparts of Ice, and it's basically like one of the BEST depictions of accidentally or purposefully coding a female character as autistic. Hikawa isn't shy or blushy but freezes in social situations, gets overstimulated easily, and feels that people don't take her likes and dislikes seriously because what she dislikes is socially acceptable. Bad at facial expressions and gets angry and fed up enough sometimes that it overrides her fear

Witch Hat: The story of Ramononon is an interesting fable, although I'm curious how much of that is true. Probably no more than 1%. The myrphon sounds add so much to this episode. I'm really curious what this whole interaction looks like from the outside (do the cloaks also suppress the illusion from other cloaks?) Is there really enough time to finish this arc in one episode? I guess if they skip the credits again

Ramparts: Yota home life episode. I am absolutely baffled at what is happening and what Koyun is freaking out over. I do wish Koyun added "that's what my therapist told me" after that advice dump to Yota. Okay, both girls think Yota would be perfect for the other one, so this is obviously a "Yota has two hands" situation (and Minato can go fuck himself)

Oh, this must be the Miki episode whose clip got me to watch the show. I'm surprised she got that haircut after hiding her aggressive personality for the new school. Where is Koyun getting all this therapy-speak

Ramparts of Ice: I was just saying that Minato sucks ass and needs a character arc. Miki chewing him out at the start of ep 4 was what I wanted to see, although it's pretty obvious he didn't absorb any of that. Koyuki really put him in his place though, so maybe there's a chance

I knew there was a Polar Opposites cameo in the show and spotted Suzuki right away. Although when Koyuki and Miki were meeting their middle school friends, I thought they were the Polar Opposites side girls as a real crossover, until the actual two walked behind them, which was disconcerting

DIY: Obligatory beach episode. Interesting variety in swim suit styles. Purin is starting to crack. Finally, goggles showed up for the first time in ep 7, once they're working with metal. But not when Takumin explicitly mentioned glass dust earlier

Hmm, I noticed the sales listing says shipping is covered by the seller. I'm guessing the next plot point is going to be that they make zero profit because of that
