low-rise brick and concrete buildings are probs pretty common all across the NCR urban cores. i think you can see buildings just like these literally anywhere, but these in particular i picked out to be the look of Dayglow and Maxson cities
this is for the Boneyard and any similar cities that have rapidly growing population + a lot of educated libs + quite a lot of income inequality/crime. Boneyard specifically i headcanon as being the main architecture centre of "Californian Constructivism", distinctive in using concrete to create visually interesting buildings. and also more commie blocks i guess (not that many ways you can mass-produce cheap apartments)
two of these buildings are LA buildings bc originally this was supposed to only be for the Boneyard, but i also imagine Art Deco-esque skyscrapers to be a popular style all across the Republic. and yes, that is indeed Hoover Dam on the far right. it is after all one of THE buildings of Art Deco.
i think these would be reserved for 'lesser' government buildings, like the city hall or various ministries, because they're relatively easy to build but still requires a lot of financial investment. i imagine the Republic Reserve in particular is a rebuilt version of the LA City Hall (seen on the top row middle). Caravan Companies and other Corporations love using this style to build their headquarters as well. generally associated with the 'new wave' of NCR wealth and power. very very common in the Hub and Boneyard, mostly because those are the few cities that can actually afford to build a bunch of giant skyscrapers
but just in general, this is the default style of all buildings built with any kind of money behind them. the Chicago Mart (upper row far right) is what i imagine Crimson Caravan HQ is like
this was supposed to be Followers of the Apocalypse library headquarters inspo but LA Central Library has such a good Mediterranean/Egyptian revival aesthetic that i just had to take it. so this is Shady Sands inspo now
this kind of ostentatious wealth is both insanely expensive to build, technologically easy, and quickly fell out of popular style when the NCR rediscovered concrete and mass production. however i headcanon the beaux-arts style still dominates important government buildings like the NCR Senate, Tandi's memorial, whatever they decide their national museum will be named: basically, whenever they specifically want to show off. also, as far as i'm concerned the normally Brutalist OSI heads built their disgustingly ornamental headquarters just in front of the FoA library headquarters just to piss them off.
