To start the Grand Opening Ceremonies, a barista showed his skills in flairtending and Mr. BeanLeaf came out to dance for us. So cool and cute! 

The cutting of the ribbon was facilitated by the BeanLeaf Master Franchisee for Davao Mr. Jim Sawers and BeanLeaf CEO Randy Salamat. It was also graced by Councilor Louie Bonguyan and Ms. Sweet representing Gaisano Mall.

NUTELLA OVERLOAD - I ordered this because the staff told me this is one of their best-sellers. It is very “chocolatey.”. It’s like I’m sipping Nutella and dark chocolate at the same time. Too sweet.

LEMON FRUIT TEA - I haven’t tried this one but my friend Claudine Chua said, “To tell you honestly, I loved it. I have been craving for it ever since.” (Photo credit: FashionVenom.com)

CITRUS MALUNGGAY FRUIT TEA - When my co-bloggers went to their food tasting event before the opening day, Clea Banal shared that this became their favorite saying, “ Our favourite was Citrus with Malunggay. It's refreshing and a must drink during summer. Doesn't taste Malunggay or Moringa at all! Perfect sinker would be Nata de Coco. It has green tea so it's healthy.” (Photo credit: CleaBanal.com)

We also tried their CAKES IN A JAR. It has three flavors - Black Forest, Salted Caramel, and Cookies and Cream. My favorites were the Black Forest and Salted Caramel.

The festival is organized by Cacao Industry Development Association of Mindanao Incorporated (CIDAMI) and SM City Davao. Here are the exhibitors at the event.

Mr. Val Turtur, the CIDAMI’s Executive Director said that there is a huge demand for cacao all over the world and this is an opportunity to our local cacao growers and chocolate processors to expand their businesses worldwide. There will be a lot of guests who will check out the displays, samples, or products at the festival.

The SM City Davao Assistant Mall Manager, Engr. Nick Saptos said that the attendees can also win a golden ticket if they can guess how many chocolate coins are there inside this capsule.

The Belo Medical Group in Davao opened its doors last February 2015 and since then, they received positive support from their existing and new customers all over Mindanao. The Davaoenos really waited for a long time for Belo to put a clinic here in the city. Now, we don’t need to take a flight to Manila or Cebu to experience the magic of Belo.

I was so lucky to be part of their grandest press launch at SEDA Hotel Davao last August 12. It was hosted by Cristalle Belo-Henares, with their endorsers, Margie Moran Floirendo and Piolo Pascual.

We had a great lunch and we had fun creating these headdresses organized by Gatchi & Gatchi Events.

Dr. Vicki Belo shared to us her humble beginnings and memorable experiences in putting up a big beauty business. Piolo and Margie also shared their stories and why they are still with the brand they love for how many years.

Ofcourse, I had to take a picture with us together to know who is the most handsome guy. Well, it looks like I win. Hahaha!

After the press launch, we head down to the ribbon cutting event at the Belo clinic located at the 2nd floor of Abreeza Mall. Next to it is the grand mall show with Piolo serenading the audience.

It was indeed a festive day for Belo. The continued growth and expansion is a testament to Belo’s vision of making the Philippines the most beautiful country in the world, one person at a time.

Ms. Caryl Lim brought us to their KTV rooms. She showed us the different rooms that are good for 4, 8, and 12 people. They served us a blue margarita to freshen up our throat so we can sing in tune (well, that was a joke), and some desserts.

We also had a chance to use the Kinect. It is a motion-sensing game that allows gamers to use hand gestures and spoken commands while playing the game. We had a dancing game which we really did enjoy. We danced in groups and in pairs to different dance music.

After dancing, it’s time for some relaxation at their spa. While waiting for our turn, they served us this yummy pizza!

While finishing our dinner earlier, the staff asked us to pick a spa service to be given to us after the activities. The remaining services were Facial (Diamond Peeling) and Radio Frequency Therapy. Since I just had my facial a few days back, I chose the Radio Frequency Therapy. I was a bit concerned when the staff told me that I should not drink or eat an hour before the therapy. So I was limiting my food and drinks after the dinner. But then we had karaoke and Kinect, so it took me 2 hours to prepare for the RF Therapy.

First, the staff instructed me to take off my clothes, except the undies. Then she let me wear a loose shorts and measured my tummy. I layed on the bed and asked her if it’s really painful. She said it is painful, but not really. So imagine my face when she said that! Haha! I felt like I am up for a major surgery. Well, she gave me more info about how it works and it calmed me down a bit. Then she wiped a cream or a lotion on my tummy before she used the vacuum. It was hot and it’s like someone is pinching your stomach. you can feel it sucking your stomach and yes it hurts, but you’ll get used to it. You’ll see the results after and I was amazed. It took 5 inches on my waist and you can really feel that it tightened your skin.

This experience was really one for the books. I felt like I’m an artista that I went through this type of procedure. Hahaha!

I would like to thank Ms. Caryl Lim for the warm accommodation and to the staff of K1. Eventually, I went back 2 days after and brought my barkada so they can enjoy teir services too. It was really fun!

Monika is the 1st runner up in AsNTM Season 3 next to Ayu Gani from Indonesia. She was a volleyball player from De La Salle University and a psychology graduate. She also won the Century Tuna SuperBods last 2012. 

During the Fashion Forum, she shared to us her experiences when she auditioned for the show. She actually auditioned for the show’s Cycle 2 but she didn’t make the cut. So when she heard that there will be another audition, she really came in first and proved to the panel of judges that she is really serious in joining the next cycle. She successfully made the cut along with Amanda Chan and a Davaoeña Franchesca Lagua.

A lot of fans were able to ask her questions during the interview. And of course, I stand up and asked a very simple question. Fanboying here. LOL!

“You were a volleyball player in DLSU, right? Then, what made you decide to do modeling?”

“Oh, actually I am into modeling na talaga and then I want to do something in school so, I became a volleyball player. Kaya lang, magkaiba kasi ang diet ng isang volleyball player compared sa pagiging model. Vigorous kasi ang training namin. So I really have to choose.**”

THE GRIDDLE

They are the newest in town, but they surprised us with what they have to offer. They serve burgers with 100% pure beef and it’s also 100% delicious! You got to order their Bacon burger or their Homemade Bacon and Mozzarella Sandwich.

There was an ensemble of denim pieces from Tee Culture, Markus, and a lot more. I never thought you can wear denim on denim without looking like your Aunt from the 80′s. Haha! Well, I gotta admit, I’m really not good in style.

SM Lanang Premier was struck by teens and young adults because they know that the guests of the fashion show were the SM Youth Ambassadors, LA Aguinaldo, and Richard Juan. Richard was one of the finalists of Eat Bulaga’s Foreignoy and LA is the AXE Gold Man and the newest Asia Model Star.

We’re glad that we had a chance to meet the Ambassadors and the head stylist of the show, Mr. Bjorn Medina.

Rush down to SM Lanang Premier to get the latest denim trends. All of their denim wear is located at the Ground Floor near the entrance of SM Department Store.

When I visited PRIMO for the first time last 2013, I only had a drink and believe me, I can still remember how good their mojito is! So I am excited to taste their food for the first time. Mr. Alex Tiaoqui accommodated us and introduced their dishes one at a time.

TUNA SASHIMI DIABLO (P165) - It’s not that sour, but it was really spicy. It also tastes “milky” for me. I like the combination of the crunchy wonton chips and the spicy tuna sashimi. It’s like an “Asian Tuna Tacos?” haha!

CHEESE STICK FLAUTAS (P150) - I was hesitant to try it first because when I heard “flautas”, I imagined a big and very spicy green bell pepper inside this Lumpia wrapper. But when I tried it, it only has a small amount of green bell pepper and it tastes good! It’s more cheesy than spicy and the roasted tomato salsa is really good!

SIZZLING BEEF TENDON (P220) - I am not a fan of beef tendons or “litid”, but their version of this dish is a “thumbs up”. It has a thick gravy with garlic. I highly recommend this as a main dish served with rice.

MUSHROOMS AND CHORIZO (P185) - Sauteed chorizo, button mushrooms, and caramelized onions in Olive oil and garlic. The chorizo was too salty for me, but the mushrooms balanced the taste.

PESTO LINGUINI (P155) - I was surprised that their version of pesto pasta is not oily, which is a good thing. I like the saltiness of the parmesan cheese and the crunch of toasted cashew nuts. This might be a new favorite for pesto pasta lovers.

BACON MUSHROOM MELT (P255) - I really wanted to eat the whole burger by myself, but I had to share it to my fellow bloggers. Haha! The beef patty was delicious and the bacon was crispy and tasty. The french fries was seasoned just right. I’ll think of eating this when I’m in a bad mood and I want to eat something to de-stress myself. Haha!

SHRIMP DIAVEL PASTA (P250) - I love seafood pasta and I must say that this one was cooked to perfection. The spicy gambas were not overcooked and the marinara sauce gave me the “kilig” feeling. Haha! Definitely, a must try!

SEAFOOD SUPREMO PIZZA (P360)  - This is one of my favorite dishes too! It’s a thin crust pizza with shrimp, anchovies, garlic, onion, and mozzarella! You can really tell that there's anchovies because of the strong smell and taste. I couldn’t ask for more!

GRILLED CHEESE, TOMATO, AND BASIL (P140) - They combined the rich flavors of cheddar cheese and basil sandwiched in a toasted wheat bread. The smell is strong, but it adds flavour in every bite. This is a perfect merienda served with an iced tea.

CLASSIC GOLDEN WAFFLE AND MANGO JUBILEE WAFFLE (P110/P170) - Both waffles are yummy. But the best waffle goes to the Mango Jubilee. Vanilla Ice cream + Mango + Waffle = best dessert ever!

If you would ask me what are my top 3 dishes, that would be the Shrimp Diavel Pasta, Seafood Supremo Pizza, and the Mango Jubilee Waffle. Per order is good for 2 persons. So if you are going out in large groups, you might have to order more. The price range is Php150-Php360. They also serve different beers and cocktails.

I joined the COLOR MANILA RUN at the Davao Crocodile Park Grounds last May 24 and whew, it was not a typical fun run! It’s colorful and it’s a first in the city!

I must say that this was one of the most organized fun runs I’ve joined. I left my Brother Ink drawstring bag with all of my important stuff at the baggage counter without any worries.

For P650, I got all of these cool stuff.

Of course, we need to warm up before any fun run. It was too early to flaunt my dancing skills, but I had to do it to avoid injuries while running. So I joined, probably, half of the routine. Hahaha!

The run started at 5:20 AM for 10K runners, 5:30 AM for the 6K runners, and 6 AM for the 3K runners. I joined the 6K category to show that I’m humble to my friends who can’t run 10K. Just kidding haha!

BTW, when we started to run, we ran through this area where a huge fire truck was splashing cold water to all the runners! Unfortunately, I have no picture of it because my phone will be soaked in water if I tried. It was fun but come on… wala pa akong ligo noh! Haha!

We ran through 3 color stations. There were some people throwing colored powders at you. Like literally throw it to your face but, it was really fun.

Finally, I reached the 6K U-Turn somewhere in Ma-a. Haggard na, oh!

I finished the race after an hour and I got a balloon and a Brother pillow! Yaaay!

I met my officemates Davey and Ms. Queck after the race. They’re all covered with colored powder, too! We claimed our colored packets for the ceremony so we could all end the race with flying colors. Literally. :)

The day could not have gotten any better, but it did when the DJ played some party music! Who would’ve thought we would have a rave party so early in the morning?!

The countdown began and we throw all the colored powder to the air!

The people behind this are crazy! In a good way of course. They totally brought the “fun” in the run. Me and my friends enjoyed this colorful event. Thanks to Brother Ink and Color Manila Run Team for bringing this colorful event here in Davao.

What really amazed me is that we have a lot of sponsors for the party. We had a raffle and I won these prizes! Isn't it AMAZING?

The White House is the best place to spend the night of fun with the DBS bloggers. It's very classy and it has good ambience. The food was delicious too! Kudos to our organizers!

I also met the newest members of DBS. They are all good looking! I'm the odd one out! LOL!

The crowd went crazy when we played charades! The room was filled with laughter even our sponsors had fun watching us play.

Move over Marvin and Jolina, or LizQuen, or Kathniel... Angel and Anton is the next loveteam of the year! Hahaha! Peace guys!

This is a one-day party that promotes music and the arts from our local talents. This will be a colorful event with vast artistry and chromatic decorations. All of the featured DJ’s will bring their own and unique style of music.

We have DJ’s from Manila - DJ Jet Boado, Ron Poe, and Khai Lim. We also have Kirby Yu from Boracay and Distillery Cebu. MC Ron Thug and MC MJ Collarga will hype the crowd too!
