being involved heavily with the boardgame industry is really depressing sometimes. the AMOUNT of AI slop that is rampant in the industry now, from grifters trying to do a quick cash grab, to companies who have abandoned using any human creativity or thought process at all; and the worst thing, is half of the kind of people into boardgames are the very techbros who speak to their chatgpt girlfriends and rave about AI like its the second coming of jesus. and then you see people throwing 13 million dollars at a company known for using genai in every single thing they do, on a project that literally fed a fromsoft game into a clanker to make a hollow imitation with said techbros foaming at the mouth and claiming its the best board game ever made despite the actual play reviews beyond 'this looks so awesome its just like elden ring' being 'it feels unfinished'. I cannot WAIT for when they rugpull all the morons who have become so dependent and reliant on this shit and they have to sell their houses to pay for their AI bills 😊
