A billion vectors rendered in with ray-tracing. I see the phase portrait. I see the three-dimensional manifold in a four-dimensional space. The shadows on the wall and the ancient beings who make the shadows. I peer into the amethyst eyes of the unyielding serpent. I have done my calculation.

Out of the suggested cooking time of "18 to 20 minutes", I will be cooking this pizza for: 19 minutes.

If you look at something (you can use any thing for this), and pay attention to it, it might provoke some thoughts in you (connected with the thing perhaps), and then if you keep those thoughts in your head, while still looking at the thing, the thoughts might cause you to notice something you hadn't previously seen in the thing, or to see it in a different way; and now your looking-at-the-thing is not quite the same as your original looking-at-the-thing. If you stay with this new looking-at-the-thing, if you keep on looking at it in the light of those thoughts you had, you may find that this new vision prompts a different set of thoughts from the ones you had the first time, and again, if you hold this second layer of thoughts in mind, you will probably find that (quite spontaneously) a third layer of looking-at-the-thing emerges, and so on. And you can go back and forth like this for a surprisingly long time. This is what people mean by the phrase "thinking about something". Nobody ever taught me about thinking about something, so I struggled with all this for a long time, and I hope this tutorial will be useful to people in a similar position.
