the total armand erasure and like baffling undermining of anything about louis and armands relationship is like such a glaring hole in the whole damn thing like ok so louis is at absolute rock bottom paying a woman to pretend to be his daughter and theres nary a single mention this might be because of you know realizing he spent nearly a century living with her killer and the guilt misery shame and everything it brings up like i dont know i think thats strange like that was literally the central conflict of the past two seasons and now everyones just calling armand ugly instead of idk the real things???

you know im kind of resentful why is it that now that the show sucks the fandom experience is fun and we are all holding hands hating together and all the intellectual posts are some long complicated analysis of it sucking and thats so beautiful and fun but in season 1 and 2 u would watch a really great episode and come to tumblr for some intellectual analysis and like every third post was about how you can only be a true victim if ur a woman coded omega leaking from ur hole and people were dying in the streets over which character was the leaker and it was like impossible to avoid like idk can someone start making some worse posts right now about how lestats woman coded by fucking his mom or something so i dont feel like we have more good posts when the show sucks

the reason gaylors believe that taylor swift is like a crazy mastermind hiding her real secret life through an elaborate performance is they are picking up on something real and true about her but its not that shes a lesbian but its because shes a light yagami kinnie and thats why so many of her songs are made into death note amvs

god thinking about the thing lay still again its genuinely the best twist by a longshot of the entire show because it so beautifully lets louis tell the story of how he wished things happened and that he didnt let claudia down that he didnt choose lestat over her and then peels back and has him reveal the truth and that he was unable to burn the body and could not even do that one act to protect her even as he claimed he was choosing her over everyone because it makes complete emotional sense and its also one of the few times that the show truly lets you get caught up in and linger in the emotions of the story and telling it exactly how everyone wants it to go the clean break and doing what was expected it then plays with the expected nicely in that way something later twists feel at odds with or like intentionally mess with to the detriment of sense making but this works so beautifully twinned up it gives you what you want what you expect and it makes those desires align with louis' own desires there and works as a piece of storytelling both how louis wants to tell his own story in a way a lot of the random small details was it raining or whatever feel inconsequential and somewhat pointless to harp on because its emotional truth and the desire for things to either be neat or the mistake to not happen its far more elegant and more devastating

objectively the funniest thing about the name change and marketing strategy combined with the shocking drop off in quality is that streaming services literally treat the vampire lestat as a separate tv show from interview with the vampire one could truly stumble upon interview with the vampire and be like wow i love this show a real shame it never got a third season :( and perhaps in the future that will be more and more people

oh. and maybe this is embarrassing for me as a vampire studies scholar but i must confess i am not well versed in animanga vampirism . so i have zero context for what that last thing means but would be fascinated to know more.

one of the funnier things about the iwtv/tvl name change is like ok i understand interview with the vampire no longer fitting the conceit of tvl if youre going to adapt that but then in order to attempt some semblance of fitting in w the previous seasons they decided to make the premise of s3. interviewing lestat

ok well you know at least we can sit back and think about louis listening to armands weekly stalker report about daniel voyeuristically truly torturing daniel to save their marriage kept working and kept working no wonder armand agreed to the interview its never loumandover
