Critterlike (like a critter) is a community and identity that encompasses the lifestyle of acting like an animal in a SFW way, be it dressing kemonomimi, using dog bowls, playing fetch, going for walks, collecting pet toys etc

New term new term! Critterlike is for anyone and everyone, so long as animal activities or dress are a part of how you present yourself! You don’t have to be alterhuman, it can even just be a hobby! Treat this as an umbrella term for furries, therians, otherpaw, kemonomimi etc

The term is specifically SFW! A lot of minors find themselves in petplay spaces when doing activities they deem innocent, because they overlap with those spaces. This term allows them to find people their own age, as well as other people doing things in a sfw way!

The softer, more pastel flag is for earthly critters! The stripes mean: warm blooded critters, sky critters, land critters, sea critters, and cold blooded critters.

The second flag is for unearthly critters, and the stripes stand for: warm blooded critters, fantasy critters, fictional critters, space critters, and cold blooded critters!

In the wild, spotted hyenas live in female-dominated clans that can have up to 70 members. Within each clan, all females are dominant to all males and will remain with the clan they were born into for their entire lives. In contrast, males will move into different clans and slowly move up through the social rank as older males die. To gain favor with the dominant females, males will follow different individuals around for days or weeks until a strong relationship is established.

otherpaw reminds me alot of gender nonconformity. i think, as a trans man, anyone should be able to express themselves in gender presentation as they like. femininity, androgyny, masculinity (etc) without it directly dictating your gender identity. GNC does not make you transgender. right? makes sense. in a similar sense, presenting as a nonhuman animal without being a therian is fine. doing quads, wearing gear, making moodboards, collecting things related to that species. these things should be completely normal. the same way gender nonconformity should be completely normal.

anyway. otherpaw, copinglink, pet regressors too. anyone who feels their alterhumanity is in any way voluntary.

Just wanted to make this post seeing where many others were discussing the topic, but always remember that my blog will always be a place for anybeing to rest — human, otherpaw, otherkin, otherlink, fictionkin, furry, whathaveyou. I myself am a therianthrope and furry, and will not condone any hatred towards any of these harmless groups on my blog. You are safe here. <3

🌺 .. Furthermore, I do not care what other beings discuss with their identity as it is none of my business. I nay not understand physical/biological alterhumanity, but it is not and never will be my place to tell beings what they are or how they experience identity. I'm just here to share my journey and experiences, and I will not sit here and burden myself with "investigating" others because they believe to experience their identities differently than I. I am only spiritual & psychological, that's my experience, and I will never be able to speak for everybeing.

🌺 .. With that being said, please never take what I say as religious truth: I do not know everything about alterhumanity (+ more specifically, therianthropy), how I view it and what I define it as may be different than other beings, and that's okay! I want beings to remember that things like alterhumanity are extremely broad, and people are going to have varying stances and takes on things because of how broad it is. It involves so many thought processes, so many different identities, and so many experiences, that no two beings will agree on everything. I used to see it a lot on TikTok, but always remember we are not a hivemind. Beings will disagree with you, not everybeing will hold the same values and beliefs, please just remember to either block & move on or hold mutual respect for one another.
