🌺 .. Hello again everybeing! Just wanted to make this post seeing where many others were discussing the topic, but always remember that my blog will always be a place for anybeing to rest — human, otherpaw, otherkin, otherlink, fictionkin, furry, whathaveyou. I myself am a therianthrope and furry, and will not condone any hatred towards any of these harmless groups on my blog. You are safe here. <3

🌺 .. Furthermore, I do not care what other beings discuss with their identity as it is none of my business. I nay not understand physical/biological alterhumanity, but it is not and never will be my place to tell beings what they are or how they experience identity. I'm just here to share my journey and experiences, and I will not sit here and burden myself with "investigating" others because they believe to experience their identities differently than I. I am only spiritual & psychological, that's my experience, and I will never be able to speak for everybeing.

🌺 .. With that being said, please never take what I say as religious truth: I do not know everything about alterhumanity (+ more specifically, therianthropy), how I view it and what I define it as may be different than other beings, and that's okay! I want beings to remember that things like alterhumanity are extremely broad, and people are going to have varying stances and takes on things because of how broad it is. It involves so many thought processes, so many different identities, and so many experiences, that no two beings will agree on everything. I used to see it a lot on TikTok, but always remember we are not a hivemind. Beings will disagree with you, not everybeing will hold the same values and beliefs, please just remember to either block & move on or hold mutual respect for one another.

🌺 .. trying out a new layout, as I find Tumblr's small text to be much easier on my eyes than the normal large text. Do let me know if any problems arise, however.

🌺 .. I was thinking about my identity a lot today. Specifically my dog-adjacent qualities, as I want to "log" my shifts and the like. I get very lazy when it rains, I have noticed; I don't entirely know why, but it's a difference than when I get lazy in the sun. I want to look into it more later, if I can at least. :)

🌺 .. On another note, though... How have you all been? I do hope you've been well, I know I have! I have been hard at work, cleaning my kennel (bedroom) the best I can, and thinking about if I want to expand my alterhumanity or not; I am already a canine on many many levels, but I've also always had a longing for the ocean, much like a fish. I've thought about researching to see if I may be an oceanfolk of some kind, as I do long for the salt of the sea and the noise of the waves. That may be something I figure out another day. If I do turn out to be an oceanfolk, I may either make a sideblog or edit this one a tad to house myself better. :)

For the most part, I simply refer to myself as a therianthrope, however there have been moments in the 7 years I've known about my identity where I have labelled myself as transspecies, otherkin, alterhuman, physical nonhuman, nonphysical nonhuman, partial human, the list goes on. I always find myself experimenting and trying new labels when my identity feels like it changes; which, admittedly, it probably is. I have a dissociative disorder that affects my perception of identity, my memory regarding it, and especially my dysmorphia, so I wouldn't be shocked if it affects my therianthropy as well. If anything that'll be the most mundane thing ever.

> I do think that it should be talked about more just how influential mental disorders can be on one's own sense of identity in regards to species, as well. I do not mean solely with "oh I have a complex dissociative disorder", as I do see that pretty decently; but with other disorders as well. I have a personality disorder, and though I chalk it all up to my dissociative disorder affecting me, I do know it affects my therianthrope identity states as well. During moments where I am overwhelmed with myself or experiencing "highs" as I log them, I often find myself feeling more and more like a showdog, and being more "anthropromorphic" in my therianthropy. I want to show off, it feels as though it is what I deserve is to have attention on me. I also tend to label myself with more "unique" or "niche" labels, mentally begging people to ask about them; other times during my "lows", I feel not only entirely nonhuman, to the point of feeling ashamed of my humanity and wishing to diverge from it, but like a snarling wolfdog. I also find myself using very broad or otherwise vague labels, like just referring to myself as an alterhuman, and not wishing for people to ask me further. I get scared and trying to isolate myself chronically, to the point of trying to scare off others because I don't want anybody to look at me.

2. Make a playlist based on your kintype.

> I forgot to do this yesterday, whoops. My bad. I already have pre-existing playlists based on my therianthropy, mostly being comprised of "soothing" songs I enjoy. I hope to make a playlist of nature sounds and softer songs one day, since my therianthropy could be comparable to the soothing feeling of a stream in a forest, or the rolling waves of the ocean.

> My current playlist is only a few songs, since I haven't worked on it in a while, however it is currently comprised of these: Sleepyhead by Passion Pit, Nothings gonna hurt you by Cigarettes after Sex, Genesis by Grimes, a few songs from the Minecraft OST (Sweden, Aria Math, etc.), and I hope to add a few songs from the Undertale OST soon. I'm thinking of adding Waterfall, The Ruins, and It's Raining Somewhere Else.

> All of these songs hold a special place in my heart in one way or another, and I often feel very relaxed hearing them. When I relax, I feel shifty, and it goes on from there. I hope to listen to more soothing sounds with my music over time, maybe layering the sounds of rain over them softly. It will especially help me cope with the immense heat here.

> As a little bonus: if I were to ever make a non-music playlist for my therianthropy to help induce shifts, I would also pair it with a slideshow or shuffling album of forests, streams, and other deeply dense greenery images. The sounds I would have in the playlist would be the sounds of the breeze in the forest, the streams gently rolling down the rocks, or a thunderstorm above my head. Perhaps I'd also add the sounds of rolling waves at the beach early in the morning, or the singing of mourning doves at dawn when the world is first waking up. I would love to listen to those a hundred times over.
