In Which Jax Actually Becomes Lovely - Chapter 1
Thanks so much for waiting, guys! As promised, here is that RibbitRabbit fanfic I was talking about. Sorry if it’s a little short, sometimes I procrastinate or lose motivation half way through writing. Trust me, I love writing! It’s one of my favorite things to do, but, again, my brain hates me. Going into the future, I will no longer give dates for when things will come out, because I know I will probably not be able to deliver in time. Also there are two “Isn’t She Lovely” puns in just this chapter alone, and a third in the title of the fanfic. I am not funny nor a good writer. Without further ado, please enjoy!
Kaufmo approached Ribbit’s door, and was about to knock to invite her to join him at the cafe, but remembered an earlier conversation he had overheard between Ribbit and Jax about them wanting to hang out alone. He decided not to bother them and walked off to go to the cafe himself.
Meanwhile, inside Ribbit’s room… Jax and Ribbit sat at the edge of the bed, as Jax wore Ribbit’s bow on her ear.
Ribbit: You look lovely.
Jax: Heh, thanks.
For a while, Jax and Ribbit sat in silence, enjoying each other’s company, until Ribbit spoke up.
Ribbit: Do you want the others to know?
Ribbit: Like do you want to tell them or…
Jax: No, it’s a little too… personal.
Ribbit: Yeah, I get that.
After a bit more silence, Ribbit spoke up.
Ribbit: Do you have a new name you want to go by?
Jax: Not right now, but I’ll think about it.
Jax: Hey, wanna join me at the cafe?
Ribbit: Sure!
Jax handed Ribbit her bow back.
Jax: Don’t want anyone to see me in this.
Ribbit: Yeah, I get that.
Jax and Ribbit left to go to the cafe, unaware that Kaufmo was already there.
The next day, again in Ribbit’s room, Ribbit handed Jax her bow, and Jax put it on.
Ribbit: So, you got any name ideas?
Jax poked Ribbit’s side, making her giggle.
Jax: You’re gonna have to call me Greznedge from now on.
Jax began rapidly poking Ribbit, before pulling Ribbit onto her lap, and tickling her.
Jax: Nope, it’s Greznedge! Now I’ll only stop if you apologize, with my correct name.
Ribbit: Okahahay! I’m sohory, Greznehedge!
Jax, as promised, let go of Ribbit.
Jax: That’s better. But, seriously, I did come up with three actual name ideas.
Ribbit: Alright, what are they?
Jax: First one, Bunnie, pronounced like “bunny” but spelled with an “ie.”
Ribbit: I don’t know, sounds a little lazy.
Jax: Yeah, says you, “Ribbit”!
Jax playfully shoved Ribbit, earning a small giggle from the frog.
Ribbit: Okay, okay, fine! What are your other two ideas?
Jax: Uh, “Jinx”, for one.
Ribbit: I like it. What about the other one?
Jax: My last suggestion is “Jillz.”
Ribbit: Ooh, I really like Jillz!
Ribbit: Yeah, if I were you that’s the one I’d pick.
Ribbit: It’s a lovely name for a lovely woman.
Jillz paused for a moment while blushing before making a quip.
Jillz: God, could you get any cornier!?
Ribbit: Never change, Jillz. Never change.
