37: The Changeling

Rewatching Court Martial today. It’s amazing how much I enjoy watching TOS no matter how many times I’ve seen it. Also I’ve watched way more of Bill’s shows in 50s and 60s now since last time I’ve seen this episode, and now watch it again, especially the scene when he’s been questioned on court, it feels so much like Kirk’s a combination of all his previous roles: the only son’s rebellion from Route 66, the prosecution lawyer’s sense of justice from Defender and For the People, soldier’s stubbornness and belief in system, ladies’ man’s romanticism and naiveness from so many shows…etc. Reminding me of something he said before, that all of the shining points in his career were results of all the “yes” he said before that connected together. So true.
