The magma from the top of the volcano fluctuates depending on the usage of portals in the land. The more the portals are used, the less the magma will bubble over. Portal jumpers will donate their time to increasing portal usage, but it's a very dangerous job. Three of the portals in the land lead you right into the crater of the volcano.
