First you start knitting, then you try crochet (or the other way around) because that cool project requires it, then you see all that marvelous embroidery and you think why not? At a certain point you wonder, is it so hard to sew clothes? Maybe you could try, and you start thinking about that old sewing machine in the attics. Then you see a video of someone spinning wool and you feel your hands itching, but wool is so expensive, how much does keeping alpacas costs, then
Have any of you bought wooden needles from knitpicks? I really want to get the.. interchangeable majestic wood ones with my tax return, but I’ve never bought anything from them before, and it’s a big almost $60 sink.
An even further question, does anyone know how they compare to the clover brand Takumi bamboo needles?
I meant to post this over here, but I wasn’t paying attention. Boosts would be appreciated!
I have some wooden KnitPicks needles, and they are much higher quality than the Clover brand. They are smoother and the wires are very smooth and flexible. They are lightweight and have good balance. I prefer a more slippery needle, like the Addi Turbo, but they more even more expensive. I have not tried the KnitPicks nickel-plated needles. If you like wooden needles, the KnitPicks are the way to go. You deserve good tools!

These socks were such a fun knit, used about nine different yarn found from my stash. Lots of self striping yarn with some solids thrown in.

Photo of my Shetland ring shawl WIP. If I can do 3 pattern repeats a day I will be done in time for the Sydney Royal Easter Show in March.
Amazing!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Knitmas … - KnitPicks Staff Knitting Blog
Finished. Framed. Perfection.
Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, rendered in freeform crochet. Mostly single crochet and slip stitches, but some half-double and double crochet too, and a fair amount of surface embroidery.
A full, detailed blog-post will happen after Christmas, when I don’t have to keep this a surprise from my mother. Best Christmas present ever? I think so.

I’m at a family Christmas brunch and so I pulled out my colorful shawl and the next and oh boy, 😍😍😍 I love how this yellow is popping against the teals and blues. 💛💙💛💙💛💙💛
Using yarn I bought earlier this year and intended to use to knit a lace summer top for something completely different because it’s just like that sometimes. 🤷♀️ #knitting #handknit #knitscarf #knitshawl #ravelrypattern #ravelry #textiles
