Craft Notes 7/20
Greetings! Last week didn’t go as planned. My Sock Week project turned into a mug rug. I also frogged the scarf/shawl I was working on but I did manage to knit a whole hat on Sunday.
I also spent some time this week working on my sock and sweater projects. However, most of my time was spent working on my denim quilt made with my late Sister’s blue jeans.
I have the quilt top pinned to one of her old blankets right now. I plan to use it to back the quilt.
This weeks goals:
Tie the denim quilt down to the blanket and cut to size.
Turn the remainder of the quilt squares and a t-shirt into pillows
Finish the green stripe on my sweater and knit a red one too
Finish the pair of socks that I am working on
Pick yarn for next donation project and cast on
Start and finish another autumnal looking hat with the last of my Rauma Finull yarn.
when I started knitting I swore to myself I'd never become a yarn horder and... so far so good... after this sock I'll have finished this yarn (probably gotta buy some yarn to finish it...), then I'll just have some left over of the green yarn (and the tiniest bit of the pink/purple glitter yarn)... i think the yarn I'll buy for this sock has to match with the green one so I can finish both next round haha

Now that my mom has worn the afterthought heel socks for a while they look even better
This might become my go-to ngl
I don’t think I’m ever gonna do the diamond heel again
So I’m knitting socks and I found a base pattern I like. Would it be wrong for me to find color work work ups and just apply them to the base pattern that I enjoy using and make adjustments based on the stitch count for the base pattern? Like, does that work? Or am I breaking knitting rules doing that?

Took a sock knitting workshop and am in the process of making my first pair of socks. Using the pattern The I’m So Basic Sock by Summer Lee Design Co. Easier than expected but wanna get different needles, not the biggest fan of the ones I picked up at the local yarn shop
Are DPNs vs magic loop for socks just a matter of personal preference? Trying to decide if I should buy a cheap set of DPNs to knit socks with or go with circular needles...
I managed a few rounds before i dropped a loop. I think i can fix it tho???
