watching a playthrough of 007 first light and so far i view it as a textbook example of what not to do for the next film installment. i know, i knoowww that it's a different medium and having sequences like the uninspired obstacle course training montages (capture the flag?!?! seriously??) are also design choices for the player's experience. but in terms of the setup and writing, it's an origin story that's so...bland and predictable and void of any distinctive charm or even humor. bond 26 shouldn't operate by a setup similar to that of first light. even craig's bond started with showing how he earns his double o status, we've been through that dance already!!

i have at least some baseline expectation that villeneuve and knight will not devolve to half assed storytelling, but then again amazon has the reigns now so my expectation is earth deep atm.

#also why are we shown all the double o trainees off the bat if there's little to no development of who tf they are + no compelling dynamics #what's the point of having all these characters of color but not caring enough about the narrative to breathe life into them #007 #james bond
