I like the idea that some vampires become obsessively fixated on children and childlike things because they see children as a perfect representation of the innocence and purity they no longer have. It's delightfully eerie to think about a rash of immortal children, of vampires becoming so obsessed with possessing a child's purity that they steal the rest of that child's life and erase everything they ever could have become in order to keep them in a state of perpetual innocence. And I do like the implication that the Cullens themselves are slightly warped in this same way.

starting a list of things edward and jacob should have had the chance to bond over (that have nothing to do with bella):

Eclipse AU where Edward still refuses to turn Bella which leaves Alice to turn her, but in order to prepare, she has to drink small amounts of Bella's blood to get used to it, which naturally makes Edward jealous and also, frustratingly enough, turns him on for some reason

thinking abt everyone who bella’s been lying to:

[Obligatory “smeyer sucks but she made some fun decisions” disclaimer] but it would have been super easy for smeyer to go “lol yeah the Cullens are behind with tech because they’re Old and their minds are frozen” but instead she went “You know what? These rich pricks never sleep and they have unlimited funds. They are ahead of the curve when it comes to technology and modern amenities”. That took chutzpah

Emmett: why did you come hunting with me if you were just going to stress about bella the whole time?

Honestly, Edward Cullen could have crashed out much worse than he did when he realized he was falling in love. I don’t think he gets enough credit for that.
