Kenya’s Court of Appeal has overturned its decision to ban Rafiki, the groundbreaking 2018 drama that depicts a lesbian romance between two Kenyan women.

There is currently a GoFundMe set up for Juliana's family. They're only halfway to their goal. Please donate if you can and share this so more people can give them support in this devastating time.

Juliana was reported missing on Tuesday April 28, 2026; and after days of worry, prayers, and searching, our worst fears became reality when she was found deceased on Friday May 1, 2026. Our family and loved ones are devastated by this unimaginable loss. We are asking for support to help give Juliana the dignified and peaceful farewell she deserves. This fundraiser is deeply personal to me because Juliana’s story is not just about loss — it is about the silent pain so many people carry after bullying, trauma, and emotional suffering. A Charlotte North Carolina City Council Member did respond to our email request to re-open the case and has forwarded our request for re-examination to the appropriate authorities; the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. Keep sharing! Lets build the momentum needed to find out what REALLY happened to Juliana Nzita. Lets now turn the pressure up and force the police and/or investigators to do the job they swore under oath to do. we paid off the $3,138 amount to not get evicted. then we were told it was actually $3,200, because of late fees. the total we owed before we paid off was $4,204. so, as of the ledger we'd requested (posted under the readmore), we still owe $1,066 as of june 1st. it's now the 9th so we have an additional $10 late fee. our lease is changing to a month to month, and as is common in this city, rent increases with every renewal to the maximum allowed percentage, so our new monthly rent is going to be $1,097.

still on the sisyphean treadmill of owed rent, while being overwhelmed with other bills, and still jobless. any help to keep us from being immediately thrust back into the eviction danger zone again would be a life saver.
