So you know how some people in the fandom think that Felix Tholomyes is also Enjolras' biological father as we get practically no information about his family other than they're rich, this in turn making Enjolras and Cosette siblings? This is so precious to me. Here's a little au for you:
I think if Fantine was mother to both of them (if they were twins or something) then Felix took Enjolras because he was a son and kind of just left Fantine and Cosette because he had no use for a daughter. I'm just imagining this completely backfiring because imagine Felix trying to raise Enjolras. He would be impossible.
So imagine if when Fantine asks to see her children (plural in this au) Valjean manages to track down Felix and pretty much try to pull his intimidating ex convict stance, but it actually doesn't take much convincing for Felix to hand Enjolras over because he's been so much trouble (not to mention that Felix would 💯 have other children by other women now, so he has no use for Enjolras who would technically be considered a 'bastard' anyway)
Imagine Enjolras' passion for justice developing when he meets his sister for the first time and sees how the Thenardiers have treated her and what they've done to her. (I also love the idea of Enjolras also being raised with the Thenardiers)
Imagine Enjolras getting instantly protective over Cosette and vowing that nothing bad would ever happen to her again. Imagine Cosette having an overprotective brother as well as father.
Imagine Valjean raising them and he just loves them both so so much.
Imagine Enjolras going off to uni and meeting Courfeyrac and Combeferre and the three of them founding Les Amis and Valjean isn't happy about it but technically there's nothing he can do to stop it.
Imagine Enjolras losing his mind when Cosette starts dating Marius because "That is so against the sibling code Coco but Istg if he hurts you I will (Insert hour long lecture here)
Imagine Cosette getting to meet all of Les Amis because they are her brother's friends
Imagine her and Grantaire getting along really well (which annoys Enjolras beyond belief)
Imagine everyone being like "Yo Enj your sister is awesome man"
Imagine Cosette and Eponine meeting again through this and ACTUALLY GETTING TO MAKE UP
Imagine Valjean practically adopting all of Les Amis and inviting them over for tea constantly
Imagine Enjolras & co getting to attend Marius and Cosette's wedding in an au where they didn't die and everyone being like "omg our babies are growing up"
