This is what it says in the script right? That Sherlock will wake up next to John. Which. Makes sense right. It's not that crazy. Sherlock takes drugs and then falls asleep and John being the good and protective friend that he is stays with him. (To monitor him and make sure he's alright?) And then Sherlock wakes up.

But. What we actually got in the podcast. Is this

John wakes up next to Sherlock. Which is in fact a bit crazy. Because. It's just. Like yes maybe it's the same scenario as above but John accidentally falls asleep before Sherlock wakes up. But. It's giving less "I stay to watch over him" and more "we sleep in the same bed". And you know obligatory it's not crazy for friends to share a bed but like. 1. It didn't seem like they had to share a bed bc of the hotel room, because when he woke up at the beginning of this episode John asked "Mariana?" so it looks (sounds) like they're all together in the same room but in separate beds. 2. It sounds like this happened before.

So yeah what I'm hearing is that if John is aware Sherlock took drugs he'll go to sleep next to him so he's close if Sherlock needs help (or someone to be there for him when he wakes up "full of guilt and shame"). Which. Kinda crazy if true. And very sweet of John. (Not that the first scenario wasn't sweet. It was. Very.)

So anyway. Now I'm wondering what the behind the scenes reason for this change is. Did Paul mess up his lines and they just kept it in because why not. Did he mess up his lines and no one noticed? Was is a decision that didn't involve accidentally saying the line wrong? I feel like it has to have come from the line being accidentally messed up.

I just loved this part so much. So funny and at the same time so sweet. That John cared So Much about.. Sherlock's health. And his struggle with drugs.
