Pretty much every toon is shipped with each other (course every fandom is like this), but especially anyone they're close with like Astro & Dandy, Bobette & Ginger, Sprout & Cosmo, Shelly & Tisha, etc, etc, which like I do find some of them pretty cute, but god I wish some people could just see them as best friends or like in a qpr, another kind of relationship, etc

i don’t know dandy’s world at all, but i’ll still do my best! i’m using the shipping wiki to see the “evidence” of the ship.

Let’s go evidence by evidence.

Ok, so this doesn't scream romantic partners to me. Of course tsundere characters exist, or the trope of getting mad at someone because you find them too attractive. But this seems like someone attempting to reach out and getting shot down. Of course it could become literally anything else later, but in this moment they aren’t even friends.

And remembering the fact isn’t that significant imo. I remember trivia from a fandom I hate now. Also he’s literally a shrimp i think? Even if you dislike someone you can pay attention for a bit.

Shrimpo seems very focused on “winning” the conversation, leading to a misunderstanding. From the “one in a krillion” comment I could understand if someone saw them as one-sided, but there’s nothing romantic about implying someone’s one in a million.

Ok, sure. They could be friends. But… they were just walking down a hallway together. It wasn’t like they told someone they were friends. It’s not like we see them hanging out any more than that. You can walk somewhere with strangers. We aren't shown their opinion of each other, and thats the most important part of understanding a relationship. And “hates everything except one unspecified thing” could mean ANYTHING. And even if it was hypothetically talking about Finn, that doesn’t mean he loves him romantically. It could mean he only dislikes Finn.

Overall, theres no solid evidence they see each other as friends, never mind romantically. Of course you could build off canon to them having a more positive relationship later, but they could also snap and kill each other. It’s headcanons and fanfic at that point.

Theres also the familial interpretation. I know it can feel weird when some people ship characters and some people see them as siblings, but seeing a popular ship instead as a more familial relationship isn't incest or anything unless YOU make it that.

But from the little I’ve seen, these two act like siblings. A younger kid with too much anger and inability to communicate it well, and an older brother who tries to connect nonetheless. Of course thats only one interpretation.

I don’t believe Strattland works as a romantic or sexual relationship. I am a firm believer of aroace grace (solely for what it’s done for the community, i genuinely love how accepted it is). Also Stratt would never willingly waste time with anything as pointless as making out or ‘reproduction’.

I don’t even know if I would call it platonic. She is his boss. She is his executioner (I am a massive fan of how deep of a character she is, dw guys I get the complexity).

Despite that, I do believe she cares about him, and that the care is mutual. She did not want to send him to space. It was the literal last option. But there’s a point where it ends. There are a lot of things Stratt could have done to help Grace more. She could have been less cruel when he answered no. She could have believed in him not actually sabotaging the mission and not giving him amnesia. But she cared about the mission more.

They are both professionals whose focus is on their work. But even without that I don’t believe either of them would be interested in any kind of romantic or sexual relationship. Grace is completely fine with never having a partner. And I have to be honest. If Stratt wanted a partner, she’d have one. She isn't kind of person who would be all shy about it. As the literal world dictator, I assure you she has options.

I understand some people might see them as platonic. And while I will enjoy content of them having a platonic relationship, I don’t believe that's what they have in canon.

Forgive me if I misremember anything, it’s been a while since I read Percy Jackson.

Yes, Percy and Annabeth’s relationship can be interpreted as a QPR.

So the obvious counter argument is “they kissed, they say they're dating”. I am fully aware, but remember that qprs can have romantic elements in them, it’s a very broad category.

I personally see them as a purposefully undefined relationship. They don’t need to be put in a box, it’s just… Percy and Annabeth.

Also they definitely don’t have a sexual relationship. While that’s from the rating of the books, as they were written to be PG, I don’t believe Percy ever expresses wanting a child with Annabeth. Now, obviously you can want a kid without wanting sex and you can not want a kid but want sex. But it is a factor and one of the only ways sex can be alluded to in PG books.

Back to the romantic side, kissing is only seen as romantic because of societal norms. If people want to kiss but don’t see it as romantic, then that kiss isn't romantic. We don’t actually see a lot of Percy’s introspection around his relationship with Annabeth, and I think that just proves my point. Percy doesn't care what their relationship “is” as long as they can spend time together (and you know they don’t hate each other).

Overall, Percabeth can absolutely be interpreted as a QPR, even platonic if you’re brave enough to ignore traditional labels.

My heart was shattered when I read this because I genuinely headcannoned kou as aro and absolutely loved his friendship with mitsuba since they seemed to really care about each other. But this chapter genuinely made me start to think they might be a cannon ship

You can believe whatever you like. something being canon doesn’t mean you have to agree. just look at the marauders fandom. I do know that it would always be amazing to have it be canon and get that representation (TRUST ME).

Alright I have some context for this so here my biased view: There is a lot of implication about their relationship, more so than other “just friends” characters. Those two are parallels to the main (canon) ship. BUT this does not mean they are romantic. I personally believe they are more qpr but i will provide evidence for just platonic and qpr

Now i’ll give my unbiased opinion

They are simply holding hands, which friends do. the background might suggest romance in certain contexts like two characters about to kiss or a meet cute, however i don’t believe it has to imply romance here.
